Lili Reinhart has a tattoo on the left side of her rib cage featuring the alchemy symbol for earth (?), which is an upside down triangle with a horizontal line through it. She was born on September 13, 1996, so her zodiac sign is Virgo which is an earth sign.
Sophie Turner got this infinite triangle tattoo on her upper left arm in July 2018. The geometric design looks like three overlapping triangles but it is actually made up of one continuous line that weaves over and under itself. It resembles a minimalist version of both the Viking valknut symbol and the classic impossible triangle illusion.
Adding to the cryptic tattoo are three lowercase Greek letters on each corner of the triangle: lambda (λ) on top, epsilon (έ) on the right, and phi (φ) on the left.
This is a matching tattoo that she shares with her brother Will. We don’t know why they chose these letters, but their tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi says that Sophie and Will designed the tattoo themselves.
Noah Cyrus paid tribute to her older brother Braison by getting this tattoo of the triforce symbol from The Legend of Zelda video game series with his initial “B” in the center. Braison has his own triforce tattoo with an “N” for Noah on his chest. He got his tattoo back in April 2014 when Noah was only 14 years old. She waited until she was 17 to return the favor!
Chiara Ferragni got this trisected triangle tattoo on her wrist in May 2012 to represent the connection between her two sisters and herself. She wrote on The Blonde Salad:
Yesterday morning I decided to get my 5th small tattoo, this time together with my two sisters Francesca and Valentina. We all got a small triangle, divided in three other triangles inside, symbolizing our blood ties.
Katy Perry continued her tradition of getting tattoos for each of her albums by getting this Prism tattoo in March 2015. In each case she has turned a motif from the album into a cutesy cartoon face complete with eyelashes. She has a strawberry for One of the Boys, a peppermint candy for Teenage Dream, and now a rainbow-colored triangular prism for Prism. The adorable design was created by tattoo artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy.
“I always bring Bang Bang in for my most special tattoos—the ones my touring team and I get at the end of a tour to commemorate another successful journey together. Each time, he’s created the definitive symbol of that era of my life.”
She pays Bang Bang to join her on tour for weeks at time so that he can tattoo her whole crew and entourage. It’s important to her that everyone involved with the planning and production of the tour has the opportunity to get inked because the tattoos are a bond that they share. She told The Project:
“It comes towards the end of the tour because it’s kind of the payoff. We’re all like ‘we’ve done 100-plus shows, let’s shed some blood together’ we do it as like a family thing. It’s to commemorate.”
The Prismatic World Tour lasted for well over a year with 149 shows in six continents from May 2014 to October 2015. Although the tattoo marks the successful completion of the Prism album cycle, the tour wasn’t over when she got inked at the end of the European leg in March 2015. After a few weeks at home, she went back on the road for her final shows in Asia and Latin America.

Avril Lavigne’s days of itty-bitty tattoos are officially over. In October 2017 she tattooed a collection of astrological symbols so big that they take up her whole forearm. The symbols are:
Taken together all three symbols represent Avril’s September 27th birthday — Libra is her star sign, air is the element associated with Libra, and Venus is the ruling planet for Libra.
The Venus symbol is of course also used as a symbol for women, but that does not seem to be why Avril chose it.
The double chevrons « » are known as guillemets and are used as quotation marks in some languages. These symbols have also caught on in tattoo culture with the supposed meaning “create your own reality.” It is claimed to be a viking symbol, however there is no documentation of this usage. We believe that Avril is simply using them as quotes around the other symbols.
Julia Michaels has an interesting tattoo design on her right wrist consisting of three V-shapes and three circles. You can see two triangles in the negative space even though they are not fully formed. This optical illusion is why the design resonated with Julia. It represents the power of the human mind to see beyond what exists on the surface.
People like to make fun of me for it because they’re like ‘oh Pac Man!’ But this is actually a symbol for perception. It has two triangles and three circles, but nothing is actually fully formed. Even though the brain perceives it as whole, and it’s not, which I think is really interesting how you can perceive something as whole even when it’s not.
This design, called the Kanizsa triangle, is a famous optical illusion created by the Italian psychologist Gaetano Kanizsa in 1955.
