Sophie Turner has at least 11 known tattoos:

Sophie Turner tattooed a letter “G” on her right pinkie finger for her grandfather in July 2018. “For my grandad. My hero,” she wrote on instagram. The delicate script initial was tattooed by artist Mr. K at Bang Bang tattoo parlor in New York City.
Her fiance Joe Jonas accompanied her and he got his own equally sentimental tattoo for his grandfather. His tattoo on his arm is a postage stamp featuring a portrait of a young Jerry Miller along with his nickname “PaPa” and his date of birth “08 21 1940.” Joe’s grandfather passed away in January 2014, at which time Joe wrote: “The funniest guy in any room. The knowledge he had. The epic life he lived. Thank you for teaching me so much. I am going to miss you. One of my Heros. Rest in Piece Papa.”
Sophie Turner got this infinite triangle tattoo on her upper left arm in July 2018. The geometric design looks like three overlapping triangles but it is actually made up of one continuous line that weaves over and under itself. It resembles a minimalist version of both the Viking valknut symbol and the classic impossible triangle illusion.
Adding to the cryptic tattoo are three lowercase Greek letters on each corner of the triangle: lambda (λ) on top, epsilon (έ) on the right, and phi (φ) on the left.
This is a matching tattoo that she shares with her brother Will. We don’t know why they chose these letters, but their tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi says that Sophie and Will designed the tattoo themselves.
Actress Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, has a tattoo on the back of her left arm featuring the House Stark’s direwolf emblem and the phrase “the pack survives.”
When she got the tattoo in June 2018 many fans assumed that it was a spoiler for the show’s upcoming final season, implying that the House Stark would be victorious. However Sophie insists that’s not the case, telling James Corden:
Actually while I was getting it done people advised me not to because it looked like I was giving everything away. But I wasn’t, it’s just a quote from last season. But everyone figures that the pack really does survive. It’s just a moral that I like to live by.
The quote “the pack survives” implies that there is strength in unity. It was first said by Sansa’s father Ned Stark, but is repeated by Sophie’s character in Season 7 Episode 7 The Dragon and The Wolf, where she tells sister Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams):
When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.
Sophie Turner revealed in a June 2018 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden that she had recently gotten a tattoo of her brother’s initials on her toes:
To be honest I was having like a bit of a party in Australia at this house and we were all watching the football. And we all decided to just get tattoos while we were watching the football and drinking beer. It was so badass….And I got my brother’s initials tattooed on my big toes.
We haven’t been able to see the tattoos yet except for a tiny glimpse in an instagram photo.
Sophie Turner got a minimalist rabbit tattoo on the back of her right upper arm from artist Curt Montgomery in March 2018.
She hasn’t publicly explained its meaning, but it may have something to do with fiance Joe Jonas. The very first photo ever seen of the couple, possibly the first time they met, was at a Halloween party in 2016 where Sophie was dressed as a rabbit and Joe wore a dalmatian costume.
But maybe we’re reading too much into this and she just thinks bunnies are cute.
Joe Jonas got his own tattoo at the same featuring a drawing of a woman that many people thought looked like Sophie’s Game of Thrones character Sansa Stark. However Joe has denied this, telling The Fix “It’s quite funny and a little disappointing probably for a lot of fans of my fiancée that it’s really just a picture of nothing.” He saw the drawing in Curt Montgomery’s studio and thought that it looked cool.
Sophie Turner has a minimalist portrait of a woman on her left thigh which was drawn and tattooed by artist Curt Montgomery in March 2018.
Sophie Turner got this little “J” tattoo on her wrist for Joe Jonas in February 2018. He has a matching “S” for Sophie in the same spot.
Sophie Turner paid tribute to her role as Jean Grey in the X-Men movie series by getting a tattoo of the X-Men logo on her left side. It’s not known exactly when she got the ribcage tattoo, which was first seen at the Beijing premiere of X-Men: Apocalypse in May 2016.
Rather than getting the classic X-Men logo, which has much thicker lines, her tattoo shows as updated version which serves as the logo for Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters in the film. Sophie played a younger version of Jean Grey who was a student at the school. She will resume her role as a more mature Jean Grey and alter-ego the Phoenix in the 2019 film X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
Fellow actress Alexandra Shipp, who plays Ororo Munroe / Storm, has a matching tattoo.
Sophie Turner got matching “07.08.09” tattoos with her on-screen sister and off-screen best friend Maisie Williams, representing the date that they found out they had been cast on Game of Thrones. Maisie’s is in red ink on her left arm, while Sophie’s is on her right arm in a flesh-colored ink which makes it extremely subtle. “I got it in peach because my mom was like ‘make sure it doesn’t show up.’ But now I’m showing the world,” she told E! Live from the Red Carpet at the 2016 Emmy Awards, where she first revealed the tattoo. The tattoo was only a few days old at the time so it will become even less noticeable as it ages.
They got their tattoos from artist Kat Paine at Belfast City Skinworks in September 2016. Game of Thrones had already announced that it would be ending after the eighth season airs in 2018. The tattoo is somewhat of a celebration of making it to the end of the show, though it may be premature as Sophie joked that she still doesn’t know whether her character Sansa Stark will actually survive. She’s seen the scripts for season 7 but season 8 hasn’t been written yet. Sophie and Maisie both have major roles in the show, but Game of Thrones has a reputation for killing beloved characters.
We were always planning from season 1, if we make it all the way through, hopefully we could all get a matching wolf or something. But we don’t know if we’re gonna make it, so Maisie and I were like “ok let’s get these ones before anyone kills us.” Which is so possible!
Finding out on August 7, 2009 that they had landed such a major role was hugely significant for Sophie and Maisie, who had both never acted on screen before, even though they hadn’t met each other yet at the time. (more…)
