Matching Tattoos

Madison Beer

Madison Beer has a teeny-tiny bee tattoo on the inside of her right ankle.  It’s somewhat of matching tattoo, but not exactly.

Her boyfriend Zack Bia has a much larger and more intricate bee tattoo on the back of his arm which he got from artist bodiesneedrest in November 2017.  His tattoo also includes a letter “B,” presumably for his last name Bia.

Madison got her pared-down version of the bee from the same artist a month later.  They went together to The Honorable Society Tattoo Parlour in Los Angeles on December 6, 2017 and Zack sat by her side while Madison got her own tiny bee to match his existing ink.

In a May 2018 tweet, she confirmed that these are her only two tattoos, but she may get more in the future.

I have two! a lip tattoo that says Honey I got about 2 years ago and a little bee on my ankle I got like 6 months ago. I might get more but very small ones.

Madison Beer

Madison Beer’s first tattoo was of the word “Honey” on the inside of her lip. She got this tattoo back in March 2017 and has mentioned it a few times, but it was over a year before anyone actually saw it. Fans finally got their first glimpse of secret tattoo in June 2018 when her “Home With You” music video was released. The video includes a brief closeup shot of Madison’s inner lip.

Honey is the name of one of Madison’s pet dogs, who she declared as the “love of my life” in an instagram caption. She had another dog named Boo Boo first and chose Honey’s name as a reference to reality TV star Honey Boo Boo.

Madison is known to be a huge dog lover.  A search through her twitter brings up statements like “hello I love dogs goodbye,” “can’t wait to get older so i can live with 500 dogs,” and “what did humans do to deserve such a gift like dogs.”

In March 2017 she accompanied Jack Johnson’s girlfriend Claudia Tihan as she got her own “honey” lip tattoo from the same artist Rafael Valdez.  So it’s somewhat of a matching tattoo, but it seems like Madison had hers first.

Jasmine Villegas

Jasmine Villegas and her former fiancé Ronnie Banks celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2018 by getting matching tattoos of their daughter’s name “Ameera Reign.” The date is also significant because Ameera’s first birthday was only a few days later on February 19th.

Ronnie and Jasmine have a YouTube channel called BANKS Family where they have shared the ups and downs of their relationship as well as posting funny pranks and reaction videos. Naturally they filmed their whole tattoo experience.

Jasmine has much bigger tattoos than this, so we’re surprised that she seemed so scared!  “It’s such a small thing but I’m terrified,” she revealed.  Despite her fears, she was also excited. “This tattoo is probably the only tattoo that’s ever going to mean anything to me because it’s my daughter’s name. So I can’t wait.”  She used numbing cream to dull the pain and persevered.

She got the collarbone inking from artist Kim at Inkies Tattoo Studio in Fremont, CA. Ronnie wished he could put his tattoo on the left side of his chest like Jasmine’s, be he opted to place it on the opposite side instead because he had more open space between his many other inkings.

A few months after getting the tattoos Jasmine and Ronnie announced that they are taking a break after four years together.  But of course they are still dedicated to co-parenting Ameera.

Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne filled in the space between the cupcake and Let Go star on her left forearm with an American traditional style red heart, complete with an arrow shooting through it and a banner across.

It’s a matching tattoo with her boyfriend Phillip Sarofim, who got the same design on his arm just below the elbow.  Their relationship was still quite new when they got inked in April 2018.  They have kept quiet, but it is reported that she began dating Phillip, the son of Egyptian-American billionaire Fayez Sarofim, after hitting it off at a mutual friends’ dinner party a month or two earlier.

Even if their relationship doesn’t end up lasting, Avril is no stranger to having tattoos for her exes. She shares ink with both of her ex-husbands: Chad Kroeger of Nickleback and Deryck Whibley of Sum 41, as well as ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry continued her tradition of getting tattoos for each of her albums by getting this Prism tattoo in March 2015. In each case she has turned a motif from the album into a cutesy cartoon face complete with eyelashes.  She has a strawberry for One of the Boys, a peppermint candy for Teenage Dream, and now a rainbow-colored triangular prism for Prism. The adorable design was created by tattoo artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy.

“I always bring Bang Bang in for my most special tattoos—the ones my touring team and I get at the end of a tour to commemorate another successful journey together. Each time, he’s created the definitive symbol of that era of my life.”

She pays Bang Bang to join her on tour for weeks at time so that he can tattoo her whole crew and entourage. It’s important to her that everyone involved with the planning and production of the tour has the opportunity to get inked because the tattoos are a bond that they share. She told The Project:

“It comes towards the end of the tour because it’s kind of the payoff. We’re all like ‘we’ve done 100-plus shows, let’s shed some blood together’ we do it as like a family thing.  It’s to commemorate.”

The Prismatic World Tour lasted for well over a year with 149 shows in six continents from May 2014 to October 2015.  Although the tattoo marks the successful completion of the Prism album cycle, the tour wasn’t over when she got inked at the end of the European leg in March 2015. After a few weeks at home, she went back on the road for her final shows in Asia and Latin America.

Bea Miller

Bea Miller and fellow pop singer Kennedi got matching tattoos  in March 2018 that say “it only couldve been what it was” with the text wrapping around their elbows.  The two girls seem to have come up with this phrase on their own — perhaps it’s a lyric to a future song?  It speaks to fate and destiny as well as the pointlessness of dwelling on things in the past that we can’t change.

Tattoo parlor Generation 8 Tattoo shared of a photo of Bea’s completed tattoo next to the paper that used as their template, where we can see that it printed out using a computer handwriting font similar to Daddy’s Hand with no apostrophe and no capital letters for a uniform look.
