Rihanna added the final piece to her hand tattoo in October 2013, incorporating both the Maori tribal design near her thumb and the chevron lines. It is an abstract design inspired by Indian henna art. Artists Bang Bang and Cally-Jo worked together on both the design and the implementation of this tattoo. The duo got out their needles and worked on different sections at the same time. “@callyjoart and I spent hours and hours drawing on different designs, we finally found one that worked! Katya Elise Henry has the word “celebrate” tattooed on her hand as a tribute to her deceased grandfather. She got the tattoo from artist Imxtana in August 2015. She explained its meaning in an instagram post:
Sometimes I need this as a reminder. Celebrate what you have been given. Focus on what you do have and not what you don’t. That is how my grandpa lived his whole life. Love and miss you grandpa.

Katy Elise Henry has a long roman numeral tattoo along her left forearm which says “LXVLXVIIILXXXVIIIXCIV”. Though all of the digits are strung together on her tattoo, it represents four different numbers: “LXV” for 65, “LXVIII” for 68, “LXXXVIII” for 88, and “XCIV” for 94. We believe that this tattoo represents the birth years of her family members, with 65 and 68 for her parents Tawnya Nelson and Derick Henry, 88 for her older sister jewelry designer Tanaya Henry who was born in 1988, and 94 for her younger sister Gabrielle Henry. However Tanaya’s is the only birth year that we can verify. (more…)
