Marzia Bisognin got a tattoo of a heart on her upper arm in October 2014. It has the initials “M.F.” for her mom and dad’s names Marziano and Franca. She shared a picture of the freshly-done ink wrapped in saran wrap and explained:

“I have just done it and I have to keep it covered for a few hours, dirty with extra ink and blood, but I wanted to show it anyway since everyone is going CRAY CRAY :P Before you misunderstand this tattoo, the initials stand for Marziano and Franca – my parents :) Nothing else. Oh, and if you are curious, it’s in the back of my arm. And no, it didn’t hurt!”

Marzia wanted to set the record straight so her followers wouldn’t assume that the “M” and “F” are for Marzia and Felix, her boyfriend (known on YouTube as PewDiePie). (more…)

On the back of her neck, JoJo has her last name “Levesque” and “Live Free Or Die.” She got the name tattooed as a way of preserving it. “My father is the only boy out of his siblings, and I’m the only child of his. So after him when I get married the Levesque name will be no longer in our family. So I wanted to kind of immortalize it on myself,” she told Homorazzi.

Beneath it is “Live Free Or Die,” the state motto of New Hampshire. JoJo lived in Keene, NH for part of her childhood.

Cher Lloyd got a pair of tattoos in memory of her uncle Edward ‘Boo Boo’ Smith, who died of an accidental overdose when he was only 34 years old. Boo Boo passed away in September 201o while Cher was competing on The X Factor, and she got the tattoos in March 2011 which would have been his birthday. “I got a tattoo in memory of my uncle which is a bird flying out of a cage,” she says. On her right forearm is a bird carrying a ribbon with the word ‘Boo’, and in the same location on her left arm is a birdcage with an open door. She shared a picture of the ink of her twitter with the caption “Happy birthday uncle boo, missing you. New tattoo. Xxxx”

Only two months later, she got a huge butterfly tattoo on her forearm which surrounds the bird but does not cover it.

Demi Lovato showed off a new tattoo on the side of her left wrist in December 2013. It is a Roman Numeral “III” which represents the number 3. She got this tattoo in memory of her father Patrick Lovato who died in June 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Demi was not close with her father for the last few years of his life due in part to his struggles with alcoholism and mental illness, which she herself relates to.

She told Good Morning America: “My father and I didn’t have the most ideal relationship, but at the end of the day he’s still my dad and I grew up with him and he was a wonderful person…I’ve dealt with mental illnesses but my father also dealt with mental illness and he wasn’t able to function very well in society.”

Despite their strained relationship, Demi got the tattoo because she wanted to honor him positively. She also set up a scholarship fund in his name to help patients pay for mental illness treatment. “It’s the Roman Numeral three. It means a lot to me because my dad, it was his like number,” she told Craig Ferguson. “He passed this summer and I wanted to do something positive.”

The number three was her dad’s favorite number because he was a fan of NASCAR racer Dale Earnhardt, who drove car number 3. (more…)

Hayley Williams has a tattoo on her elbow of a lightning bolt with the letters “TCB” for “Takin’ Care of Business.” This was the motto of Elvis Presley and his backing band was named the TCB band. Elvis wore a necklace with the TCB lightning bolt logo, and Hayley wears a replica necklace which says “TLC.” She writes “Finally got my TCB today. Been wearing the necklace for years… All the men in my family have TCB (taking care of business) and the women have TLC (tendler love and care). Now I’ve got both… And one of them is permanent! Think Elvis would be proud?”

The tattoo was done at Kat Von D’s shop High Voltage Tattoo in West Hollywood by artist Dan Smith in August 2012. (more…)

In January 2012, Hayley Williams got a large tattoo on her left side of flowers done in a brightly colored traditional style. She says that the tattoo “represents me and my 2 sisters.
