Julia Michaels has talked about how much she hated the lotus tattoo on her elbow, which she got the day than an ex-boyfriend dumped her. She thought it was poorly done and looked more like a “colorful artichoke.” So in July 2018 she had artist London Reese draw an “X” through it and added the words “BAD IDEA” with “BAD” above the lotus and “IDEA” below it. “Because it was. And he was,” she wrote.

Jessica Shears reveals a new beautiful lotus flower tattoo on the back of her neck on her Instagram profile:

Julia Michaels added a pink lotus flower tattoo on her right elbow on February 25, 2015. She chose the lotus, which is a symbol of rebirth, because she had just gone through a break-up.
Of all her tattoos, this is the only one that she’s not quite happy with. She told Power 93.3:
I do kind of regret this one. It’s my lotus, but it looks like an artichoke. And I got it the day my ex broke up with me the first time — I know, I’m a mess. And I thought, like an idiot, that I could combat emotional pain with physical pain. Don’t do it, guys — not smart.
She joked around about it with Maxwell:
It ended up looking like a colorful artichoke. And every time I look at it I just — I can’t stand it…This just looks so ridiculous. So I want to get that covered up so badly…Choose your artist well.
Asia Argento has a “Warrior Mermaid” full back tattoo with three lotus flowers, a heart at the bottom, and lots of swirls and geometric patterns. The custom design was drawn by Francesca Boni and tattooed by Marco Manzo in January 2016. It represents a shield of armor.

She also has tiny stars and dots to fill in the open spaces on her sleeve, and later added a gray background behind some of the stars on her wrist.
Samantha Maria got a new lotus flower on her left upper arm. She and her boyfriend Jason, they both got tattoos at the “One by One”. Her lotus design was the creation of Matt Stopps.
