Noah Cyrus tattooed ’07 on the back of her wrist for her friend Frankie Coletta, who she has been friends with since 2007. Noah was born in 2000 so she was only 7 years old when they first met! They had been friends for more than an decade when they got these matching tattoos in May 2018.
Noah Cyrus has a tiny “X” tattoo on her left elbow. Many people assumed that it was a tribute to deceased rapper XXXTentacion, who she collaborated with on her song “Again,” however she actually had this tattoo a month before his death.
It’s a matching tattoo that she shares with her boyfriend Tanner Drayton, though we aren’t sure why they chose the “X” design. Noah’s favorite tattoo artist Lauren Winzer inked the couple in May 2018. Rather than using her tattoo gun, she hand-poked them with a needle and ink.
Noah Cyrus has some of her own lyrics tattooed on her bicep. The cursive ink on her inner right arm says “I’ve been on fire lately” which comes from the chorus of her song “Lately” featuring her boyfriend Tanner Alexander.
When it comes to fans getting their own tattoos inspired by her music, she told NME:
You know what, I’m not, it’s your body, whatever you wanna get tattooed on your body, I’m getting song lyric tattoos, so I can’t say not to do that. But my reaction was like ‘oh my god! You may not love me forever. Are you sure you want that on your body?’
Noah Cyrus got this thunderbird tattoo on the side of her right ring finger in March 2018. The mythological bird is a symbol of her Cherokee heritage. Many Native American tribes, including the Cherokee, tell legends of the thunderbird — an enormous supernatural bird up in the sky that makes the sound of thunder by flapping its wings.
Noah Cyrus got the name “Constantine” tattooed on the back of her wrist in March 2018 in memory of her horse Constantine who died two years prior. She tweeted a picture of herself riding the horse and wrote:
My best friend named Constantine who passed away 7.5.16 I’ll
#AlwaysBeOnYourTeam buddy
Horseback riding is one of Noah’s favorite hobbies, and it’s something that makes her feel like her most authentic self. She rode competitively when she was younger and dreamed of making a career out of it until she decided at 14 years old that she wanted to be a singer. She told Access:
I love riding horses. I still ride horses. I just got a new horse actually a couple weeks ago because I missed riding horses so much that I needed it. I’m gone so much that I felt that I was losing who I really was in a weird way. And that’s who I am. I grew up on a farm. I love animals. I love going home and being able to be a tomboy. I have to dress up and put on this makeup every day, and I want to go get dirty in a barn and be a tomboy for a while.
Noah Cyrus has a solid black heart tattoo on the left side of her chest. The size and placement almost matches one that her mom Tish Cyrus has, but Tish’s is on the opposite side and is only an outline. Noah got this tattoo in November 2017.
Noah Cyrus started out with two little line tattoos on her right hand, just below the nail beds on her middle and ring fingers. Then she added them to all five fingers on her right hand.
Noah Cyrus has three celestial symbols on her knuckles: a twinkling star on her index finger, a crescent moon on her middle finger, and a sun on her ring finger. She loves outer space although she’s not sure why it appeals to her so much. She told AMBY:
I love planets, that’s like my thing….I love talking about planets, and my tour manager makes fun of me and will be like ‘you’re an astronaut today,’ and will totally make fun of me for it. So now it’s kind of turned into a joke that I just want to be an astronaut and work at NASA.
She got these first three in November 2017 and then added a heart on her pinkie in March 2018.
The heart is a Cyrus family tradition, which started when they were little kids. Miley drew a heart on her dad Billy Ray’s hand and he liked it so much that he tattooed it to show his love for her. When Miley was old enough, she got her own heart tattoo on her pinkie which was inspired by his. Their mom Leticia has heart tattoos on her hand and on her pinkie finger. Sister Brandi and brother Trace have heart tattoos as well.
While getting her heart tattoo, she also touched up the faded horseshoe on her pinkie which is a tribute to her mom.
Noah Cyrus has become close pals with Australian tattoo artist Lauren Winzer, who had given her at least four tattoos prior to this one. The went exploring a graveyard together and got matching “BFF” (best friends forever) tattoos to commemorate it. Lauren explains that the design of a tombstone with a dollar sign on was “based off one we saw in a graveyard together.” Lauren couldn’t reach the back of her own arm and had her tattoo done by Heath Nock, an artist who works alongside her at Hunter and Fox Tattoo in Sydney.
“when you & yuh bff get matching grave money tats,” Noah wrote on instagram.
