Kyra Santoro has “LOA” inked on her left ankle. LOA stands for “Law of Attraction” which is something she believes strongly in. Law of Attraction is the idea that people focusing on positive thoughts, your positive energy will bring good experiences into your life; and dwelling on negativity will do the opposite.
Yasmine Yousaf got this large writing tattoo on her left side done on a whim in May 2012. She told Lithium “we were slightly intoxicated as we were walking into this tattoo parlor.”
The tattoo says “Certum est quia impossibile est” which is Latin for “It is certain because it is impossible.” This phrase comes from them Christian philosopher Tertullian.
Fresh off her victory at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Ali Krieger arrived at the ESPN “Body at ESPYs” Party on July 14, 2015 wearing a plunging gown that showed off her side tattoo. It is a quote in German from author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s famous book The Little Prince, which was originally written in French. Her tattoo says “Man sieht nur mit dem Herzen gut, das Wesentliche ist für die Augen unsichtbar” which means “One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.”
Keke Palmer has a quote from the Greek philosopher Aristotle on the inside of her left upper arm. It says “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
She told EBONY “When I was younger, I would always go to this website called thinkexist.com whenever I was feeling stressed or happy or felt like expressing myself. I would go get a quote that was surrounded by those specific ideas or subject. So one day I put in something like ‘strength’ and I came across the quote ‘We are what we repeatedly do, excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.’ And I loved it so much that I ended up getting it tattooed.”
In June 2010, Katy Perry and her then-fiancé Russell Brand got matching tattoos on the inside of their right biceps. The tattoo says “Anuugacchati Pravaha” which means “Go with the flow” in Sanskrit.
Sanskrit is an ancient language from India, a country with special significance to the couple. Russell proposed to Katy in December 2009 while they were vacationing in Jaipur, India.
