Lea Michele has a gold star inked on her wrist in honor of her Glee character, Rachel Berry. In the first episode of the show Rachel says “You may laugh because every time I sign my name I put a gold star after it, but it’s a metaphor, and metaphors are important. My gold stars are a metaphor for ME being a star.”
Scout Taylor-Compton has a tattoo of a check box with a check mark in it. It’s located on the inside of her right leg, just above the ankle.
Keke Palmer has a quote from the Greek philosopher Aristotle on the inside of her left upper arm. It says “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
She told EBONY “When I was younger, I would always go to this website called thinkexist.com whenever I was feeling stressed or happy or felt like expressing myself. I would go get a quote that was surrounded by those specific ideas or subject. So one day I put in something like ‘strength’ and I came across the quote ‘We are what we repeatedly do, excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.’ And I loved it so much that I ended up getting it tattooed.”
Miranda Lambert has a large tattoo on her left forearm of two crossing guns with wings. Miranda says that she got the tattoo to honor her success as a performer, but that her dad hates it. “The only reason I regret it is because my dad was pissed,” she explains. “I love it, it’s kind of become my signature, it’s on everything I have, it’s my logo, it’s on all my backdrops–but my dad was upset. He’s kind of old school so he took it personally. But we’ve gotten past it. She turned the experience into lyrics in her song “Heart Like Mine,” in when she sings, “Daddy cried when he saw my tattoo / Said he loved me anyway.” Of course she admits that she didn’t think to ask first: “I got it when I was 22 on tour with George Strait. It’s the first thing I ever did without asking my parents. My dad didn’t speak to me for a week,” she says.
Cher Lloyd tattooed a diamond on her right hand between her thumb and index finger in January 2011. This tattoo is said to represent her success on the X-Factor.
