Chiara Ferragni has a tattoo on the back of her arm which says “VIAJANTE” meaning “traveler.” The jet-setting fashion blogger chose to have the tattoo written in Portuguese because she got it while in Brazil (though viajante also means traveler in Spanish). She visited artist Jorge Machado at Ipanema Ink during a 48-hour stay in Rio de Janeiro in July 2013. A friend who was with her got the same word on her ribs.

Much like her “The New Classic” tattoos on her right hand fingers which spell out the name of her debut album, Iggy Azalea tattooed “Digital Distortion” on her left hand fingers in anticipation of her sophomore album, which was never released. She got the tattoo from artist Rafael Valdez in March 2016. Her then-fiance Nick Young tagged along and got an unrelated tattoo on his arm.
Iggy’s tattoo covers up two of her old “Live Love A$AP” finger tattoos which she had removed. “Digital” is on her ring finger and “Distortion” is on her middle finger. “I covered up my old finger tattoos since they were light enough from the laser removal. Still working on the pinky though,” she tweeted.
The album title “Digital Distortion” represents how facts become warped in the age of social media and clickbait journalism. Iggy has often ranted about news stories she sees about herself which are either untrue or aren’t newsworthy. Even though the album was never released, the term “Digital Distortion” still means a lot to her. In response to a fan who asked if she planned to remove the tattoo, she tweeted:
Digital distortion is an ongoing fact of life in the internet. Unless the internet starts being honest it’s relevant as fuck to me.
Digital Distortion‘s release was pushed back multiple times for different reasons. After her breakup with Nick Young, she scrapped a whole album because she felt that the songs she’d previously written no longer reflected what she wanted to say. Her label was underwhelmed by the chart performance of the singles that were released. Eventually the whole project was shelved. Iggy switched to a new record label and a new management team and announced that her next album would be called Survive the Summer instead.
In May 2013, Chiara Ferragni got this tattoo on her forearm that says “Muse.” A muse is someone who inspires an artist, and as a famous fashion blogger Chiara is surely a muse to many designers.
She actually sold necklaces inspired by her “Muse” tattoo as part of her limited edition Caia Jewels collection.
Chiara Ferragni tattooed a map of the world on her right wrist to symbolize her love of travel and show that the world has no limits. She wrote that the tattoo
“totally represents my life at the moment: always traveling, and I still have so much to see and explore.”
She got her tattoo from Dr Woo at Shamrock Social Club in April 2013. During the British Fashion Awards in December 2014, she met pop singer Lily Allen and realized that they both have the same tattoo from the same artist.
Chiara Ferragni got this trisected triangle tattoo on her wrist in May 2012 to represent the connection between her two sisters and herself. She wrote on The Blonde Salad:
Yesterday morning I decided to get my 5th small tattoo, this time together with my two sisters Francesca and Valentina. We all got a small triangle, divided in three other triangles inside, symbolizing our blood ties.
Jesy Nelson revealed a new tattoo on the left side of her ribs at the Global Awards on March 1, 2018. It says “Keepers” and it might be part of a matching “Finders Keepers” tattoo with someone else, possibly her boyfriend Harry James?
Even though the tattoo can be seen clearly, the uneven handwriting makes it hard to tell what it says. The loop on the to of the “r” is too high while the loop on the “s” is too low. We have to agree with one instagram user who commented “It does say Keepely tho doesn’t it? That’s what it looks like… what’s it meant to say? Cause whatever it’s meant to read it doesn’t I’d want my money back from the tattooist.”
Tattoo artist Gabby Colledge does these cursive tattoos in her own handwriting for an organic but imperfect look. Looking through her portfolio, her letter “r” has a tall loop in many of her designs, including Jesy’s own “girl power” tattoo.
Jesy Nelson got three tattoos on her right hand all at once in January 2018. Her middle finger knuckle says “amor” which means “love” in Latin, Spanish, and Portuguese.
On her index finger and ring finger are the letters “E” and “J.” These initials are a bit of a mystery since her boyfriend’s name is Harry James. It doesn’t match any of her family members either — her parents and siblings all have names that start with a letter “J.” The “J” might stand for Jesy, but we don’t know who or what the “E” represents.
Jesy Nelson got this “girl power” tattoo on her collarbone from artist Gabby Colledge in January 2018. As a girl group, Little Mix’s music is all about women taking charge and standing up for themselves. They want female listeners young and old to feel empowered and confident. “If a girl is being bullied, or heartbroken, or just feeling like utter shite, if our music can make them feel better… then we’re doing our jobs right,” Jesy says.
The term “girl power” has been deeply entwined with female pop groups ever since the Spice Girls made it their slogan in the 1990s. Girl power is all about women supporting each other and building each other up rather than competing and tearing each other down.
Danielle Bregoli paid tribute to XXXTentacion by getting this “Numb” tattoo on her right forearm which matches one that the late rapper had on his face. XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was murdered on June 18, 2018 at only 20 years old. Danielle knew him personally and was devastated by his sudden death. In a long instagram post, she wrote:
Yesterday I lost one someone very important to me. x was not only a close friend but he was a inspiration. He gave me the best advice and was always there for me when I needed him. Even when we would argue or he would call me yelling and mad or disappointed because I did some dumb shit he would always say “Ight I love you mamas” before he hung up. The feeling of him being gone kills me. He would always be one call away. And I hate the thought that when I’m in the need to talk to him when I’m upset he won’t be here to tell me everything’s gonna be okay. Bc of that dumb Trippie and 69 shit unfortunately the last call I had with x ended with me saying “i don’t ever wanna talk to you again” and nothing is killing me right now more than that. And the crazy thing is Sunday night I had the urge to call him and I forgot. Then yesterday afternoon I plugged my phone in in the car and randomly “sad” came on then my phone buzzed i looked down and I had got the message saying he passed away. I didn’t know what to say and my mind couldn’t process it. I just couldn’t believe he was gone and I still can’t #ripxxxtentacion
She got her tribute tattoo only a few days later and shared it on Snapchat with the caption “I love you forever.” Technically, her tattoo says “Nunb” since a cursive letter m should have three arches, but she did this on purpose in order to stay true to X’s original ink. XXXTentacion’s version of the design, which was below his right eye, was written in a way that was in between cursive and print. The letters were joined together but looked like print letters, and his m had a straight line stem rather than a leading arch.
Danielle also included the three black dots that X had just below his “Numb” tattoo — even though she already had her own three dots tattoo on her finger. XXXTentacion’s dots represented the chapters of his life. He had three above each eyebrow and three below his right eye for a total of nine chapters.
His “Numb” tattoo represented a period of his life where he couldn’t feel anything. He poured his heart out into his music and shared his many emotions — including numbness. He wrote a song called “NUMB” for his 2018 album ? and another track “Let’s Pretend We’re Numb.”
We’ve got to imagine that Danielle is feeling pretty numb herself regarding his death. The shooting has made her question the displays of bravado and toughness in today’s the rap scene. In a video recorded by TMZ, she says:
It needs to be a wake up call to all these […people] who want to act all tough and hard. And then when people really get a hold of them — It’s not funny anymore. We lost X because of this, because people want to act all big and bad. […] This is real life. This is not a fucking video game.
Chiara Ferragni has the inspirational quote “I swear I’ll never give in / I refuse” on the back of her upper left arm in her own handwriting. These lyrics come from the song “Best of You” by The Foo Fighters, who she described as “one of my forever favourite bands.” She wrote on her website The Blonde Salad:
It’s a sentence with such a big meaning to me, from one of my favourite songs, written so thin that it looks like it is only written by pen. I’ve been wanting this tattoo for months and in Los Angeles I finally made my decision and made it.
She got the tattoo in April 2012. It gives a strong message to always keep fighting even when faced with adversity. She told Glamour:
My favorite [tattoo] I got done on my last night in L.A. after Coachella by Dr. Woo, who is super good, and it’s in my handwriting; I just wrote it on paper.
Though that was back in 2013 when she only had five tattoos, so it might not be her favorite anymore.
