Adele has added to the collection of tattoos on her wrist on three separate occasions. First were the three dots which she got as a matching tattoo with Joy Williams from the indie-folk duo The Civil Wars.
Next she visited artist Tanja Nixx who gave her a mimimalist coin design which is the largest of the tattoos on this wrist. It is a simple circle with an outline of a heart and the words “ONE PENNY” for her mother Penny Adkins.
Most recently, she added a date inside of the coin. The numbers are hard to read, but it is thought to say “1921” for her first two albums 19 and 21, which are both named after her age at the time.
Kash Doll has a rose with stem tattoo around her left wrist.
Kirstin Maldonado went for tattoo number four on May 3, 2016 after playing a show in San Diego, CA. She got a crescent moon on her right wrist, which is a matching tattoo with a friend. Artist Hunter Urscum writes: “Tattooed multi Grammy award winning platinum artist Kirstin Maldonado of Pentatonix after her show last night. Her and her Homegirl got some cute little crescent moons. Cool chicks, yalls gotta check out her music.”
If her instagram caption “Khaleesi ?” is any indication, it seems that they decided on moons as a reference to the Game of Thrones book series and TV show. The character Khal Drogo calls his wife Daenerys Targaryen (Khaleesi) “moon of my life” and she calls him “my sun and stars.” We haven’t seen Kirstin’s friend’s tattoo, but it’s probably a sun and stars.
Kirstin Maldonado’s second tattoo was of her favorite Bible verse “Philippians 4:13” on her right wrist. The text of this passage is: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This is the same verse that inspired Selena Gomez‘s hip tattoo.
Gabriella DeMartino’s wrist tattoo says “once upon a time…” which is the first line of most fairy tales.
She kept quiet about the meaning of the tattoo for a while because it’s so deeply personal. She got it for herself and didn’t feel like she owed an explanation to anyone else. But she finally felt ready to talk about it in a May 2017 vlog, where she explained that the tattoo covers up old scars from cutting herself and reminds her that there can be new beginnings. She was sick of seeing reminders of the dark times in her past and wanted instead to see a positive and uplifting message.
So basically at the beginning of every book it says ‘once upon a time.’ Growing up in high school I was bullied severely. I would cut myself. I have scars all over my wrists, it’s disgusting. I’m not proud of it….It’s a place where I really want to fill up with tattoos because I don’t like what’s on there. I don’t like seeing it. I want a better reminder….I thought it would be wonderful if every time I look down on my wrist I don’t see scars, but I see the beginning lines of a story. And that is ‘once upon a time.’ It’s just a reminder that if I ever feel that low again — which I hope I don’t — it’s a reminder that it’s still the beginning. And it’s up to you if you want to end your chapter, or if you want to add another chapter. I don’t know about you guys but I am totally down for a ton of other chapters.
Her hard times in high school were just one brief chapter of her life, even though it didn’t feel that way at the time. Gabi encouraged any viewers who might be thinking about self-harming to stay positive:
I wish I never did it. To those of you who are going through anything hard, please don’t do it. It may seem bad now but everything is going to be better later on, I promise. When you’re in high school you’re stuck in this little world and you think that all that exists is in that high school, but when you graduate high school there is SO much — so much! And that was just one little portion of your life and one little portion of your world. But in high school it feels like that’s all you know. It’s really easy to get wrapped into all that stuff.
Maggie Lindemann tattooed the initials “CCH” on the inside of her left wrist in memory of an ex-boyfriend who passed away. Cameron Cole Hudson was someone whom Maggie dated back in Texas before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career. Even though they were broken up before his tragic passing, he still holds a special place in Maggie’s heart. In a tweet she described him as the “only guy I’ll never lose feelings for” and said “I love you forever and always.”
Cameron was severely injured in a campfire accident on November 25, 2014, with burns on 90% of his body. Despite initial projections that he would not even survive for 24 hours, he managed to hold on until February 28, 2015, when he succumbed to his injuries. He was only 18 years old when he died. From his obituary:
“He will be remembered and missed immensely by the family and friends he loved so much. With his very first breath, Cameron charmed everyone with his friendly, outgoing, caring, kind and loving nature. Just a little on the mischievous side, he had an amazingly beautiful smile; and he was not afraid to use it! With his free spirit and adventuresome attitude, he lived life to the fullest! He loved anything with an engine, always looking for ways to make it bigger and faster. The memories of Cameron and the joy of his life will never be forgotten.”
Maggie got her commemorative tattoo from artist Romeo Lacoste on May 29, 2016, along with a music note next to it.
Maggie Lindemann got this music note tattoo on her left wrist on May 29th 2016, at the same time as the initials “CCH” for her deceased boyfriend Cameron Hudson. Maggie first garnered attention for posting videos of herself singing on Keek and she has been using her social media fame to launch a career as singer-songwriter.
Maggie Lindemann intends to cover-up this tattoo on her wrist — but not in the way that you think. She got an outline of a broken heart in red heart to represent the fact that she is incomplete because she hasn’t found her special someone. And when she does, she’ll change the tattoo into a solid red heart. “My tattoo is not for any ex or anyone in general. It means I’m not whole until I find the person I’m gonna marry,” she tweeted. “And whenever I find him then I’ll fill the heart and be whole again.”
This was her very first tattoo, which she got on May 5th 2016 from artist Romeo Lacoste, beginning a streak of over 10 tattoos in less than a year.
