Noah Cyrus and her boyfriend Tanner Drayton aka Tanner Alexander got matching star tattoos from artist Jon Boy in June 2018. The design includes five stars, four of which are filled in with black ink and one that is empty, giving the appearance of a four-star review. Noah captioned one of her pictures “four out of five,” suggesting that the tattoos may be a tribute to the Arctic Monkeys’ song “Four Out of Five” which was released only a month earlier.
This isn’t the first time that the couple have gotten inked together. They got matching rose tattoos back in August 2017. Although they have been dating for a while, they have kept their relationship mostly private since Tanner is not a celebrity and likes to stay out of the public eye. That is starting to change now that Tanner has made his musical debut as a featured artist on Noah’s song “Lately.”
Noah Cyrus got this tiny smiley face with x’s for eyes tattooed on the back of the wrist from artist Jon Boy in June 2018. She took the gun herself and tattooed the same design on the artist.
Noah Cyrus has a tattoo on her left forearm with the title of her favorite song by her dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. It says “Bluegrass state of mind” in large cursive letters.
Noah Cyrus pays tribute to her second home of Los Angeles, California with this simple hand-poked “LA” tattoo on the side of her left wrist.
Noah Cyrus tattooed ’07 on the back of her wrist for her friend Frankie Coletta, who she has been friends with since 2007. Noah was born in 2000 so she was only 7 years old when they first met! They had been friends for more than an decade when they got these matching tattoos in May 2018.
Noah Cyrus has a tiny “X” tattoo on her left elbow. Many people assumed that it was a tribute to deceased rapper XXXTentacion, who she collaborated with on her song “Again,” however she actually had this tattoo a month before his death.
It’s a matching tattoo that she shares with her boyfriend Tanner Drayton, though we aren’t sure why they chose the “X” design. Noah’s favorite tattoo artist Lauren Winzer inked the couple in May 2018. Rather than using her tattoo gun, she hand-poked them with a needle and ink.
Noah Cyrus has some of her own lyrics tattooed on her bicep. The cursive ink on her inner right arm says “I’ve been on fire lately” which comes from the chorus of her song “Lately” featuring her boyfriend Tanner Alexander.
When it comes to fans getting their own tattoos inspired by her music, she told NME:
You know what, I’m not, it’s your body, whatever you wanna get tattooed on your body, I’m getting song lyric tattoos, so I can’t say not to do that. But my reaction was like ‘oh my god! You may not love me forever. Are you sure you want that on your body?’
Noah Cyrus got the name “Constantine” tattooed on the back of her wrist in March 2018 in memory of her horse Constantine who died two years prior. She tweeted a picture of herself riding the horse and wrote:
My best friend named Constantine who passed away 7.5.16 I’ll
#AlwaysBeOnYourTeam buddy
Horseback riding is one of Noah’s favorite hobbies, and it’s something that makes her feel like her most authentic self. She rode competitively when she was younger and dreamed of making a career out of it until she decided at 14 years old that she wanted to be a singer. She told Access:
I love riding horses. I still ride horses. I just got a new horse actually a couple weeks ago because I missed riding horses so much that I needed it. I’m gone so much that I felt that I was losing who I really was in a weird way. And that’s who I am. I grew up on a farm. I love animals. I love going home and being able to be a tomboy. I have to dress up and put on this makeup every day, and I want to go get dirty in a barn and be a tomboy for a while.
Noah Cyrus has become close pals with Australian tattoo artist Lauren Winzer, who had given her at least four tattoos prior to this one. The went exploring a graveyard together and got matching “BFF” (best friends forever) tattoos to commemorate it. Lauren explains that the design of a tombstone with a dollar sign on was “based off one we saw in a graveyard together.” Lauren couldn’t reach the back of her own arm and had her tattoo done by Heath Nock, an artist who works alongside her at Hunter and Fox Tattoo in Sydney.
“when you & yuh bff get matching grave money tats,” Noah wrote on instagram.
