Ash Costello and her New Years Day bandmates got matching noose tattoos to commemorate a tour that they did in 2016. She first revealed the fresh ink a Snapchat picture, which she captioned “gonna hang forever.” She further explained the significance in an interview with Louder Noise:
My favorite piece is what we all just got — it’s a tour tattoo. It’s a noose, and everyone on the tour got it because we’re all gonna hang out forever.
Lynn Gunn and Sierra Kusterbeck got matching snake tattoos in November 2016. The snake in a circle eating its own tail is an ancient symbol known as the “ouroboros” and it represents the infinite cycles of nature. Artist Baud Nach added leaves and flowers around the sides of the snake to make it look like a laurel wreath. Lynn got the design tattooed on the front of her left upper arm, while Sierra’s is on the back of her right upper arm.
Maggie Lindemann wasted no time in going in for tattoo number two. On May 9th 2016 – only four days after her first — she got this tattoo on her left forearm which says “always” in lowercase cursive letters. This tattoo is one of two which are dedicated to her ex-boyfriend Cameron Cole Hudson who passed away in a fire.
Maggie started drama in a now-deleted tweet in which she accused fellow internet star Arzaylea of copying this tattoo. Thought it isn’t all that unique of a design, Arzaylea got a similar “always” tattoo only a day later.
Scout Taylor-Compton has three separate quotes tattooed on her left shoulder blade. She started out with just the top two lines, which are lyrics from the Mumford & Sons song “Awake My Soul.” They say “In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die. Where you invest your love, you invest your life.”
Next she added the inspirational phrase “anyone who thinks sunshine is pure happiness / has never danced in the rain.”
The final quotation that she got tattooed is “Darlin’, forever is a long, long time / and time has a way of changin’ things” which comes from the Disney Movie The Fox and the Hound.
Lily Collins added a new tattoo below her “Love Always and Forever” upper back tattoo during a trip to South Korea in July 2016. The new ink, courtesy of Tattooist Doy, features a nude woman sitting on a lily pad in the fetal position. The lily pad represents her own name, Lily.
“Flashing some back for #fbf. A beautiful keepsake from an incredibly memorable Korean adventure. Thank you @tattooist_doy for adding your artistry to my personal collection. Self love is the most important kind #LoveAlwaysandForever #lilypadinbloom #KrazyinKorea…” she wrote on instagram.
This tattoo was done using thin lines and watered down ink so that appears a faint gray compared to the crisp black lines of the tattoo above it.
Briana Evigan has a tattoo on her left shoulder blade which says “Zawsze I na sempre.” It means “Always and Forever” with part written in Polish and part in Latin. “Zawsze I na” is Polish for “always and for” while “Sempre” is a Latin word meaning “forever.”
Niykee Heaton’s first tattoo was a Shakespeare quote on the side of her foot. It says “Thy eternal summer shall not fade.” This quote is printed on the grave her sister Rachel, who battled cancer for most of her life and died when Niykee was 12. Niykee shared a picture of the gravestone and wrote “This is the quote that I got tattooed on my foot when I was 14, in South Africa. Love you forever angel.”
