Mena Suvari has a large tattoo of a lion on the back of her neck and the words “Word Sound Power” on her upper back.
Alana Potocnik’s knuckle tattoos are a red music note on her pinkie, a green treble clef on her ring finger, a letter “P” for Pittsburgh on her middle finger in black and gold (the Pittsburgh Steelers colors), and a red and black Mickey Mouse head on her index finger.
Brittany Harrell, drummer for the band Veara, has a tattoo on the front of her ankle of a drum and realistic-looking crossbones. A banner reads “Living The Dream.”
On the inside of Brittany Harrell’s upper left arm is the cartoon peach from her band Veara’s What We Left Behind album cover. Veara are from Georgia — the peach state — and use peaches in many of their merch designs. The banner in the tattoo says “Pop-Punk” which is a reference to the band’s genre as well as their slogan “Peach State Pop Punk.”
This detail of Sammi Doll’s full sleeve tattoo shows the message “Why use the word when the word means to believe” written just below her left elbow. These are lyrics from the song “Song Of Imaginary Begings” by IAMX.
The keyboard tattoo on Kelly Osbourne’s right arm is one of her most regrettable. She has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and was drunk when she got this tattoo. While Kelly has come to hate most of her tattoos over time, she regretted this one instantly — but she pretended to like it so that her mother wouldn’t be mad! “I think [tattoos] can look good but when you get some big fucking keyboard on your arm, that’s when they’re ugly,” she said. “I was so fucked up when I got it, the next morning I woke up and thought, what’s this on my arm? But I thought the only way I wouldn’t get a massive telling off from my mum was to own it. I was like: ‘Look how cool this is, Mum!’ But really I thought, ‘Why did I do that?'”
So why did she get it in the first place? She told Access Hollywood “I can’t play the piano. And I have a keyboard because I liked Moogs [synthesizers] because I went through my weird 80s phase…Even though it’s really beautifully done and it’s cool, it has absolutely no relevance to me and it’s stupid.”
She has been getting laser tattoo removal on this and many other tattoos, though parts of the tattoo are still visible.
Amber Rose has a large tattoo on her left forearm which says “The World Is A Vampire.” It is a lyric from the Smashing Pumpkins song “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” and a reminder that the world can be cruel. Bobby Serna inked the words in a traditional tattoo style lettering in May 2012.
On the side of Hanna Beth Merjos’ right hand are the words “Rock N Roll.”
Hillary Scott has a very stylized treble clef design on her right foot. This of course represents her love of music.
