Bianca Booth and her boyfriend got matching tattoos on their left wrists. Bianca’s tattoo has an outlined heart and the initials “NU” while Nick’s tattoo has the initials “BB” inked on his wrist.
Ash Costello and her boyfriend Jimmy Trigger got matching bat wing tattoos on their hands in September 2016 from artist Danny Anchor. It is the first tattoo on her left side.
Ash has described Jimmy and herself as “two bats in a cave.” She posted a picture of their two tattoos together captioned with the Lana Del Rey lyrics “No one even knows what life was like, now it’s paradise, no one even knows how hard life was, I don’t even think about now because, I finally found you.” It seems that they had only been dating for a month or two when they got the tattoos.
Ash Costello has a sloppy looking heart with the letters “BF” on her right forearm which was done by a friend with a tattoo gun. We think the “artist” behind the ink is Escape The Fate lead singer Craig Mabbitt. A year earlier, Ash tagged along with Craig while he was getting a tattoo and she ended up grabbing the gun and giving him “BFF,” a heart, and a smiley face.
Ash Costello and her New Years Day bandmates got matching noose tattoos to commemorate a tour that they did in 2016. She first revealed the fresh ink a Snapchat picture, which she captioned “gonna hang forever.” She further explained the significance in an interview with Louder Noise:
My favorite piece is what we all just got — it’s a tour tattoo. It’s a noose, and everyone on the tour got it because we’re all gonna hang out forever.
Ash Costello has a tattoo on her right forearm of the tally mark logo from her band New Years Days’ October 2015 album Malevolence. All of the band members and crew have their own versions of this tattoo on different body parts. Rather than having the design in red, as it appears on the album, they opted for black ink with a red outline so that it stands out more. The album artwork was designed by graphic artist Eve Saint Raven.
Lynn Gunn and Sierra Kusterbeck got matching snake tattoos in November 2016. The snake in a circle eating its own tail is an ancient symbol known as the “ouroboros” and it represents the infinite cycles of nature. Artist Baud Nach added leaves and flowers around the sides of the snake to make it look like a laurel wreath. Lynn got the design tattooed on the front of her left upper arm, while Sierra’s is on the back of her right upper arm.
PVRIS have matching tattoos behind their left ears of the letter “P” from the band’s logo which were first seen in a March 2015 photoshoot. The three permanent band members — singer Lynn Gunn, guitarist Alex Babinski, and bassist Brian MacDonald — all have the tattoo along with their touring drummer Justin Nace. (more…)
Miley Cyrus got matching tattoos of her Happy Hippie Foundation smiley face logo with a group of pals in November 2016. Artist Daniel Winter stopped by Miley’s Los Angeles house to do the inkings — then Miley grabbed the tattoo gun and gave him his own.
Among the group of friends who got the tattoo was an Oklahoma City vintage dealer known as The Junk Fairy who has sourced many of Miley’s whacky outfits. She writes:
Other surreal moment…When Miley asks you to get a matching tattoo! My first! Even at almost age 61! Seven of us got matching tiny @happyhippiefdn smiley faces-that she designed!??? @winter_stone did several at Miley’s amazing house. #notdrunk #honored ?? More too not in photo!! #bondedforlife ??? #hopefulhippies
Miley’s super-tall dancer Amazon Ashley, close friend Katy Weaver, and photographer Jonce were also part of the group.
The design that they all got is a smiley face with two letter “H”s for eyes. It is the logo for the Happy Hippie Foundation, a non-profit which Miley Cyrus founded to help combat homelessness among LQBTQ youth.
Louisa Johnson and her boyfriend Daniel Elliot have matching tattoos of their own birthdays in Roman Numerals. Louisa first revealed the tattoo on the top of her left shoulder in February 2016. The tattoo says “XI-I-XCVIII” for her own birthday January 11, 1998 (11-1-98). Daniel’s tattoo is on the left side of his chest and says “XXII-XI-XCV” for his birthday November 22, 1995 (22-11-95).
