Sammi Doll and her husband Jinxx (Jeremy Ferguson) from Black Veil Brides have matching tattoos on their ring fingers which say “til my dying day” to symbolize the permanence of their relationship. They got the tattoos in May 2011 and announced their engagement the next month. They were wed in October 2012. Sammi wrote that this was “The most painful but meaningful tattoo ever.”
Pixie Geldof has the words “What will survive of us is love” tattooed on her right forearm.
Maragret Cho has a tattoo on her upper right arm of an eye surrounded by beads. Margaret explains: “This is a lover’s eye, which is a Victorian jewelry they used to have. Secret lovers would give each other a Victorian kind of little charm and it had their eye — it didn’t have their whole face, just had their eye. And so this was done for me by a secret lover of mine, so it all sort of works out.”
Michelle Branch has a heart on her finger in honor of her husband Teddy Landau, whom she married in 2004. “I have a heart on my ring finger in case I forget to wear my wedding rings,” she wrote.
Leona Lewis won’t reveal the exact meaning of the Arabic writing which she sports on her left wrist. She shares the tattoo with her ex-boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa whom she has known since age 10 and dated for many years until their breakup in 2010. “It’s incredibly private and something that we both had done,” she told Mirror. “I can’t reveal what it is. Some things need to remain private for me.”
Leona Lewis got the flower tattoo on her left side as a tribute to her boyfriend Dennis Jauch. “I was in Berlin with my boyfriend and it seemed like the right thing to do,” she told Fabulous, “I wanted to mark the moment, so I went into a tattoo parlour and had a little flower done. It represents starting afresh, something blooming.”
Kelly Osbourne has a pair of wings tattooed on her shoulder blades in reddish ink. Later she added writing between the wings which says “Je Vous Aime la Maman,” French for “I Love You Mom.”
The red heart on Kelly Osbourne’s left pinkie finger is a matching tattoo with her ex-boyfriend Bert McCracken. The pair met in 2002 when Bert’s band The Used played on the Ozzfest Tour. Bert broke up with Kelly on Valentine’s Day in 2003, but expressed regret afterwards. “I’m such a dickhead. She’s the most important girlfriend I’ve ever had. We’re best friends,” he said. “I’m just not ready for a relationship, period, let alone a huge, public relationship. I just hope that someday I can maybe be with someone as good and perfect as she is.”
Amber Rose and her fiancé Wiz Khalifa have tattoos of each other’s names on their thumbs. His says “Amb” while hers is “Cam” for his real name Cameron Thomaz. It is surrounded by hearts on both sides.
Speaking of couple’s tattoos, Amber told Inked Magazine “Wiz and I did it, but we want to be together forever. So I guess really make sure you want to be with that person forever, and try to wait until you’re older, when you can make better decisions. I suggest getting a small tattoo, just in case you break up—then it’s an easy cover-up.” She has already learned that lesson once — she had the name “Ernest” tattooed on her arm for an old boyfriend when she was only 15 years old, but had the tattoo covered by the roses on her arm. Before getting it covered, she told Sirius radio “I learned alot from him so every time I look at that tattoo I know not to make the same mistakes.”
Amber is much more mature this time around and feels differently about the relationship. She tweeted “I want his name tatted on me a million times.”
Scout Taylor-Compton has the words “My vow to you” written along the side of her left finger. This finger is where a wedding band is traditionally worn. (more…)
