Jacqui Sandell also has a outline of a Dala Horse on her right wrist as a nod to her Swedish heritage. She chose red ink because a traditional Swedish carved Dala Horse figurine is typically painted red. (more…)
Neon Hitch has a tattoo of the bus and trailer that her family lived in when she was a child. The same image was used on the cover of “Happy Neon” mixtape. It’s on her right forearm next to her “Trailer Trash” tattoo. Artist Ron Cohen did the tattoo in June 2014.
Neon Hitch has “Gypsy” tattooed on her wrist as a symbol of pride in her Romani heritage. Though gypsies are often looked upon with hatred, Neon is proud of her culture and says “I’m trying to stand up for my community and prove we’re not all bad.”
Neon has added onto the tattoo multiple times. It started out with just the word “Gypsy.” Then she added shapes in red-brown ink including an Eye of Horus which is an Egyptian symbol of protection. In October 2012 she had the symbols drawn over in black ink and altered some of the shapes, transforming the circle and square into spirals. She also added an outline around the whole tattoo at this time. The most recent addition was in September 2013, at the same that she got the swirl tattoo on her hand. She put a row of tiny swirls above the Gypsy tattoo to tie together both inkings.

Neon Hitch got the words “Trailer Trash” tattooed on her right arm in June 2013. Though the phrase is commonly used as a pejorative, Neon is proud of having grown up in a trailer.
Her family are gypsies and she was raised in a caravan, traveling from place to place. As a child she was trained as a trapeze artist. Her family never had any money, and Neon has said that although it was hard being poor, “it was a beautiful lifestyle growing up and getting to see the world.” (more…)
Lily Collins has an English rose tattoo on her right foot in honor of her British heritage. The stem of the flower is made of words which say “the nature of this flower is to bloom,” a quote from author Alice Walker.
Lily Collins has a tattoo of a crown and angel wings on the inside of her left wrist. “My mom and I went together to get it done,” she says. “It’s a British crown, I’m British. Angel wings, my mom has an angel on her and I wanted angel wings.”
The tattoo also has her initials “LJ” for her name Lily Jane. “I wear a crown, some wings, a lil LJ, and my heart on my sleeve #whatmorecouldiaskfor #permanentreminder” she wrote on her instagram. (more…)
Cara Delevingne has “MADE IN ENGLAND” tattooed on the bottom of her foot like the stamp on a the sole of a shoe. The tattoo was done by artist Bang Bang in July 2013 and is Cara’s third tattoo.
Matching the “Esta Loca” tattoo is Dev’s “Menina Bonita” tattoo for her other grandmother. She says that these two are her favorite tattoos. Dev explains: “It says ‘Menina Bonita’ which means ‘beautiful girl’ in Portuguese because my Portuguese grandma used to always say that to me.” (more…)
Dev has a tattoo around her elbow of the words “Esta Loca,” which is Spanish for “she’s crazy” or “it’s crazy” (feminine form). Dev is of Mexican and Portuguese descent and honors her heritage with tattoos in both Spanish and and Portuguese for her two grandmothers. “It says ‘Esta Loca’, because my crazy Mexican grandmother used to say that to me,” Dev says.
