Hilary Duff added a new inner-arm tattoo to her collection in December 2017. The actress shared a video of herself sitting in the chair at the parlor of Dr Woo, who inked her arm with the cursive lettering “Take Fountain” which refers to the Fountain Avenue.
The quote “Take Fountain” become famous thanks to actress Bette Davis. An interviewer asked her the best way for young actresses to get into Hollywood, expecting her to answer with acting or career advice. Instead she took the question a different way and responded “Take Fountain” because driving on Fountain Avenue is a shortcut to get into the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. (more…)
Zoey Deutch had has a highly detailed portrait of her dog Maybelle on her right calf which was inked by Dr. Woo. On The Late Late Show with James Corden she joked about what this tattoo implies about her: “Can ask an honest question? Is it ‘awww’? Or is it truly psycho that I got a portrait of my dog on a very exposed part of my body?”
She already had her beloved pet’s name on her ankle and says “I have ‘Maybelle’ tattooed on the other side of my ankle, so just in case I forget what she looks like or what her name is, I just look right down at my foot. And I know exactly what my dog is and what her name is, so that’s the good thing.”
Billie Lourd got a space galaxy-themed tattoo on her ankle in honor of her mom Carrie Fisher’s birthday, since the Star Wars actress had a similar tattoo herself.
Zoe Kravitz has a tattoo that says “Sweet Kid” which is one her own childhood nicknames. Dr Woo tattooed the words on her right arm just below the elbow in June 2015.
Ashley Roberts has the Eye of Horus tattooed on her left forearm.
Lucy Hale visited Dr. Woo at the end of July 2017 to get a new light bulb tattoo on her left upper arm. The light bulb is inspired by her name Lucy, which derives from the Latin word “lux” meaning “light.” She told People:
“My most meaningful tattoo is probably my newest, it’s my light bulb that I got on the back of my arm. My name Lucy in Latin means ‘as of light.’ I actually have light tattooed on me too, but this is a representation of my name. It was done by Dr Woo who is just so cool and so artistic and probably my favorite tattoo artist, so I feel lucky that I got an appointment with him.”
Technically, Lucy isn’t actually her first name! Her real name is Karen Lucille Hale but she has gone by Lucy since she was born.
She showed off the vintage-style light bulb tattoo on instagram, captioning it:
Be the light. Thank you @_dr_woo_ for my new tattoo that’s my new favorite. I also feel the need to apologize to my mom every time I get a tattoo…sorry momma!
