Ruby Rose has a tattoo on her lower back of a tribal design with a rose at the center, inspired by her name. The regrettable “tramp stamp” was her first tattoo which she got when she was only 16 years old. That was in the early 2000s when lower back tattoos were all the rage, but now styles have changed and the tramp stamp is a much-mocked cliche. Ruby doesn’t love the design anymore but she sees it as a part of who she is.

“It’s a typical tramp stamp, with a rose and an architectural design around it.  It’s ridiculous,” She told Canvas magazine. “It’s such a 16-year-old’s tattoo. I would never get that now. But I would never get it removed either. It’s one of my favorites because it was my first.”

Melanie Martinez has a few tattoos of drawings by Masami Yanagida, but this one on her left calf was the first.  It’s a little girl jumping in the air but her head is cut off and roses are spilling out of her neck.  The girl’s blouse says “For Joy” as a reference to the expression “jump for joy.”  Melanie went to artist Gary Royal in October 2015 who turned the drawing ink permanent body art.  They made some changes to the colors, most noticeably making the skirt pink. In October 2015, Wolftyla got this large tattoo of two roses which covers her left forearm. Artist Richard Zayas Jr. writes “Repost of those roses I did for @wolftyla couple months back! Demi Lovato finally got her regrettable kiss mark tattoo covered in April 2015. She went to Gee Spot who gave her a grayscale rose on her forearm.  A pair of darker black leaves conceals the original tattoo. Demi had gotten the original tattoo back in 2011 when she was drunk or high.  Now that she’s sober she hated the tattoo and joked that it looked like a vagina. “Bye bye ? and hello ?.. Thank you SO MUCH to my brother @GEESPOTAT2… It looks beaaauutiful and I LOVE it!! ??? #RIPvaginatattoo #kidsdontdodrugs” she wrote on her instagram.
