Amber Rose added a full-color portrait next to the existing rose tattoo on her upper right arm. It’s positioned so that the face looks like it is behind the roses and the hair stretches up onto her shoulder.
Ivy Levan has a large portrait on her right side of the character Morticia Addams from “The Addams Family.” She was seemingly inspired by this fan drawing. She redrew the face herself, adding more contours and exaggerated makeup, and had it tattooed by artist James Reed in December 2014.
Melanie Martinez has a tattoo on her upper right arm of a retro pin-up girl holding a box of apple juice. It’s contained in an oval-shaped frame made from rope. Artist Wayne Fredrickson did the tattoo in November 2014. (more…)

Fantasia Barrino has two tattoos on the inside of her right forearm. A portrait of her daughter with her name “Zion” and a cartoon skull with a bow. Fantasia gave birth to Zion at 17 years old and raised her as a single mother with no help from the father.
Bunny Meyer got this portrait tattoo on the top of her right foot during spring break in 2011. “This was my first color tattoo and also my first large area tattoo,” she explained in a video. “It’s a cameo of Al Swearengen who is a character from the TV show Deadwood.” His face is in a golden picture frame with two crossed miner’s knives at the bottom.
The tattoo was done by Dave Boseman at Locally Famous Tattoo in Houston, TX. He got through it in one session which took roughly seven hours. “He is by far the best portrait artist I have even seen,” Bunny says.
She original planned on getting tattoos on both feet, but has reconsidered since this one was so painful. She was shocked by how much it hurt since her first tattoo on her wrist was relatively pain-free. “I was going to get another cameo on my left foot of another Deadwood character so they would match and be a set. But I have not been able to convince myself to do this because the first time around was so horrible.” Even after the tattoo was done, her foot was so swollen that she couldn’t walk for a week.
Megan Massacre got her first tattoos when she was 18 years old. She started studying the art of tattooing before she had any tattoos of her own, so she gave herself these tattoos on her leg to practice her skills.
“When I was learning, I actually tattooed some of my leg,” she told KTNV. “These aren’t very good! But this is when I first started tattooing, I had to practice on myself. And if you can imagine this, my leg is up on an armrest and I’m trying to reach down here to tattoo. That’s why it’s not finished…It’s a little difficult because you need two hands to tattoo.”
She hadn’t gotten any tattoos before because she wasn’t sure what she wanted. However her boss pressured her by saying that she needed to have tattoos in order to be a tattoo artist.
The tattoo is a cheetah woman drawn in an anime style. “At the time, when I was 18, I really loved anime and I was really into video games. And I have to say 10 years later, I’m not so sure I love anime anymore.” Instead of finishing the bottom of the tattoo, she has the character coming out of an oil lamp like a genie.
