Sherri DuPree-Bemis got a pair of characters tattooed on her arm in November 2013. On her upper arm is artist Brandi Milne’s interpretation of the classic children’s book character Humpty Dumpty.
Sherri DuPree-Bemis has a tattoo on her upper right arm featuring the characters Mr. Tumnus (a half-goat) and Lucy Pevensie from the C.S. Lewis book series The Chronicles of Narnia. Artist Jeremy Swan did the tattoo in July 2013. It honors Sherri’s daughter Lucy Jean Bemis who was born a few months prior in February 2013.
She writes: “Nearly 20 years ago I first heard the story of C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (my mom @kimbrtones read it to us as kids) and I decided that, one day, if I ever had a daughter I would name her “Lucy” (after little Lucy Pevensie). It’s mind blowing that dream from my 10 year old self came to fruition and that I was given/trusted with that gift. The gift of my own little Lucy! Your dad @maxbemis and I love you so much kiddo! Thank you to @swanjeremy for creating this beautiful tattoo in her honor. Art by Pauline Baynes.”
Sherri DuPree-Bemis got this portrait on her left forearm in May 2013. It was her first tattoo to incorporate color. The girl in the tattoo is a character from her husband Max Bemis’ comic book series Polarity who was loosely based on Sherri herself. It was drawn by Jorge Coelho and tattooed by Jeremy Swan at Broken Art Tattoo. Max got a tattoo of his own at the same time featuring a different character from Polarity. (more…)

Alana Potocnik has a pair of zombie cartoon characters on her left calf. It’s Hello Kitty in a pink dress and Mickey Mouse.
Tay Jardine got her first tattoo in December 2012. She and her friend Sam Panagakos got matching tattoos on their wrist of Simba from The Lion King. The tattoos were done at Planet New York Tattoo in Poughkeepsie, NY.
She explained the meaning on her twitter: “it’s a reminder for me to stay grounded ‘remember who you are'”
Tay is a big fan of Disney movies and The Lion King is one of her favorites. The particular image that they chose is not the character Simba himself, but Rafiki’s drawing of Simba from the film.
Lil Debbie has a Hello Kitty tattoo on the outside of her left calf. It was one of her favorite characters as a child, and she says “I loved Hello Kitty characters so much I had one tattooed on my shin!” (more…)
