Ellie Goulding Tattoos
In April 2016, Ellie Goulding got this geometric design tattooed on her left side by Dr Woo, the same artist who did a similar piece on the opposite side of her ribcage. Dr Woo created this original piece of art based on inspiration photos that Ellie brought in to his studio. It is inspired by stars, planets and galaxies, but he took lots of artistic license to create a geometric piece that isn’t too literal.
Ellie Goulding and her boyfriend Dougie Poynter got matching skull and crossbone tattoos in March 2015. Both of their tattoos are on their right hand middle finger knuckle, but his is upside down compared to hers.
Ellie Goulding got a lotus flower tattooed on her right side of her ribcage by artist Dr Woo at Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood, CA in April 2014. She shared an instagram photo of her new tattoo with the caption “Say not ‘I have found the truth’ but rather ‘I have found a truth’.” (more…)
Ellie Goulding got writing in red ink tattooed on her left wrist by artist Dr Woo at Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood, CA in November 2013. It is the Tibetan mantra “Om mani padme hum” which means “jewel in the lotus.” (more…)
Ellie Goulding has an arrow tattoo in white ink on her right index finger. She got the tattoo in June 2013, but she had been planning it for years before getting it done. Back in 2011 she filmed a video at Salvation Tattoo Lounge in South Beach Miami where she asked the artist to design her a few sketches of arrow tattoos. “I was thinking about getting an arrow — whether it be red, white, brown,” she said. “I’d love to see some different kind of sketches of different arrows. Because there are so many, I’d like to compare them.” The tattoo has faded considerably and is no longer visible at all. (more…)
Ellie Goulding’s first tattoo was a red ink outline of a triangle on the inside of her right wrist. Ellie loves triangles and in her song “Wish I Stayed” she sings “Why do I always draw triangles instead of the words this paper so deserves?”
She told GQ magazine “I got a random tattoo the other day. It’s a red triangle, which makes everyone think I’m arty, which I’m not. I used to draw red triangles all the time. It must mean something — maybe I don’t know it yet. But I’ll figure it out.” (more…)
