Niykee Heaton has a silhouette of a flying eagle on the inside of her left wrist. It is a tribute to her older sister Rachel. “You will always be with me. #rip,” Niykee wrote on instagram.

Rachel was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer when she was only 3 and half years old. She had multiple liver and kidney transplants over the course of her life and died at the age of 21 while awaiting new organs. Niykee has encouraged her fans to become organ donors in order to prevent more deaths like this one.

Niykee Heaton has the words “love you” tattooed on her left ring finger in memory of her sister Rachel.  It is written in Rachel’s own handwriting, copied from a letter that she wrote to Niykee before she died.  “Never forget. You’re with me always,” writes Niykee.  “My sister’s handwriting reminds me everyday of her love.”

Niykee Heaton’s first tattoo was a Shakespeare quote on the side of her foot. It says “Thy eternal summer shall not fade.” This quote is printed on the grave her sister Rachel, who battled cancer for most of her life and died when Niykee was 12. Niykee shared a picture of the gravestone and wrote “This is the quote that I got tattooed on my foot when I was 14, in South Africa. Love you forever angel.”

In January 2012, Hayley Williams got a large tattoo on her left side of flowers done in a brightly colored traditional style. She says that the tattoo “represents me and my 2 sisters. Each unique and yet still growing together.” Hayley is the oldest child in her family and has two younger sisters Erica and McKayla. (more…)

Caroline Hjelt of Icona Pop has a tattoo on her right forearm of two identical eiffel towers in honor of her siblings. She told MTV Iggy “It’s two Eiffel Towers, one for my brother and one for my sister. I love Paris that’s why I wanted to do this.”

She was secretive about the bones on the back of her wrist, saying “this one is a message for myself so i like to keep it to myself — but it’s two bones crossing each other.”

On the back of her right arm, Neon Hitch has a tattoo of her sister’s name “Pema.” It’s done in a very stylized way with three lines for the “E” and a triangle for the “A”.

Neon Hitch is a songwriter as well as a singer and she co-wrote Ke$ha’s hit song “Blah Blah Blah.” Neon got this tattoo on a night of partying with Ke$ha after they completed the song. Ke$ha got a dollar sign on her hand at the same time. Neon explains:

“The song came about really quickly, and then to celebrate we both took the subway to Harlem and got tattoos. I tattooed my sister’s name ‘Pema’ because I love her so much. [My sister] got my name tattooed on her too.”

Kacey Musgraves has a colorful anchor tattoo on the left side of her ribcage.  The American traditional style tattoo features a blue anchor in front of yellow roses.

She and her younger sister Kelly got tattoos together in September 2011.  Kacey’s anchor says “Older” in a banner at the bottom because she’s the older sister while Kelly’s says “Younger.”  The yellow roses also seem to be a tribute to her sister, as Kelly’s wedding shows that she loves yellow flowers.
