Caroline Hjelt of Icona Pop has a tattoo on her right forearm of two identical eiffel towers in honor of her siblings. She told MTV Iggy “It’s two Eiffel Towers, one for my brother and one for my sister. I love Paris that’s why I wanted to do this.”
She was secretive about the bones on the back of her wrist, saying “this one is a message for myself so i like to keep it to myself — but it’s two bones crossing each other.”
On the back of her right arm, Neon Hitch has a tattoo of her sister’s name “Pema.” It’s done in a very stylized way with three lines for the “E” and a triangle for the “A”.
Neon Hitch is a songwriter as well as a singer and she co-wrote Ke$ha’s hit song “Blah Blah Blah.” Neon got this tattoo on a night of partying with Ke$ha after they completed the song. Ke$ha got a dollar sign on her hand at the same time. Neon explains:
“The song came about really quickly, and then to celebrate we both took the subway to Harlem and got tattoos. I tattooed my sister’s name ‘Pema’ because I love her so much. [My sister] got my name tattooed on her too.”
Faith Evans has a large tattoo on her upper arm which she has built up slowly over time. The tattoo displays her love for her children with her name, a heart, and all four kids’ names. The design also includes two cherubs shooting arrows which are another symbol of love.
When Faith began her career in the 90s, she had a much simpler version of the tattoo. It said “Faith ❤ Chyna” for her daughter Chyna, born in 1993, who was her only child at the time. Chyna’s father is music producer Kiyamma Griffin.
She married rapper Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace in 1994 and gave birth to their son Christopher Wallace Jr. in 1996. Faith added his name “Chris” to the tattoo along with two cherubs.
After Biggie’s death, she had two children with her second husband Todd Russaw. She of course added the names of “Joshua,” born in 1998, and “Ryder,” born in 2007.
In her most recent update to the tattoo, she added clouds around the whole design to tie it all together and set a heavenly scene for the cherubs.
Jessica Plummer got an outline of an elephant tattooed on the inside of her right upper arm in November 2013. Elephants are one of her favorite animals and the tattoo also symbolizes being a part of the band. “I wanted a tattoo to represent Neon Jungle and also family, #ohana AND THEY LOVE PEANUTS!” she tweeted. Olivia Wilde has a tattoo on her left forearm that says “all love, A” in a typewriter font. She writes: “It’s in honor of my late uncle Alexander Cockburn. He was a dear dear friend. The tattoo is the last phrase he wrote to me. All love, A. It reminds me to love everyone, just as he did.”
Fearne Cotton has three flowers on the back of her name and the names “Mum” “Dad” and “Jamie” in honor of her parents and brother.
Melissa Marie Green got a tattoo on her elbow of her sister Allison Maria Green’s initials “AMG” done by Jesse Mora in June 2013.
The swirly script letters tattooed on My Name Is Kay’s forearm say “Piuthar” which is the Scottish Gaelic word for “Sister.”
Pink has a pair of dog tags tattooed on her right ankle representing her brother and her father.
