Chiara Ferragni has a tattoo on the back of her arm which says “VIAJANTE” meaning “traveler.” The jet-setting fashion blogger chose to have the tattoo written in Portuguese because she got it while in Brazil (though viajante also means traveler in Spanish). She visited artist Jorge Machado at Ipanema Ink during a 48-hour stay in Rio de Janeiro in July 2013. A friend who was with her got the same word on her ribs.

Kaya Scodelario revealed a Portuguese tattoo on her ribs in an instagram photo back in 2012. It says “Nosso amor é único” which means “Our love is unique.”
Asia Argento got this Star of David tattoo on her left forearm in September 2013 as a companion to the cross tattoo on her opposite arm. It says “Verdade” which is Portuguese for “Truth.”
In May 2013, Asia Argento got this tattoo on her left forearm of the Patriarchal cross (☨) and “Firmeza” — a Portuguese word meaning firmness or stability. It represents her steadfast belief in Christ. Both the cross and the writing are upside down so that they face inwards towards her when she looks at them.
She shared a photo of the tattoo along with a Portuguese hymn “Firmeza firmeza no amor / Firmeza firmeza aonde estou /Eu estou firme com meu Jesus / Eu estou firme nesta luz / Aonde estou” which translates to “Firmness firmness in love / Firmness steadfastness where I am / I am firm with my Jesus / I am firm in this light / Where I am”
Hailey Baldwin has a tattoo on her left ankle reading “Minas Gerais,” which is a state in Brazil. It was inked by artist Jon Boy in October 2015.
Asia Argento has a large angel tattoo on her abdomen. This decades-old tattoo was first seen on a magazine cover in 1996. Due to its age, she had the tattoo redone by her favorite artist Marco Manzo in December 2013. “Angel is coming back with vengeance and proteçao. Getting it tattooed again by @marcomanzotattoo where it belongs since 21 years, tomorrow,” she wrote.
The angel is a symbol of protection and it sits next to a scar from hernia surgery. At the bottom of the tattoo is a banner with the word “Proteçao” which means “Protection” in Portuguese.
Matching the “Esta Loca” tattoo is Dev’s “Menina Bonita” tattoo for her other grandmother. She says that these two are her favorite tattoos. Dev explains: “It says ‘Menina Bonita’ which means ‘beautiful girl’ in Portuguese because my Portuguese grandma used to always say that to me.” (more…)
