Jessie J has a small tattoo of a stick man on the back of her left ankle. The figure is sitting a cross-legged position and flashing a peace sign with it’s hand.
The tattoo helps her to stay relaxed. She had it done in Los Angeles while she was feeling particularly stressed. “It’s something I can look at and go ‘I need to chill out’,” she says.
The anchor tattoo on Hanna Beth Merjos’ wrist is a matching tattoo with her mother.
Alice Dellal has a tattoo of a bird’s skull on her left forearm. It’s done in the style of a pen and ink drawing, where short lines are used in lieu of shading.
Zoë Kravitz has compass arrows tattooed on the insides of both of her feet to guide her forward in the right direction. The arrow on her right foot is pointed towards her with a letter “S” on top for “South” while the left foot arrow faces forwards with am “N” for “North.”
Brandi Cyrus has a cross on her knuckle on her right index finger. Compared to the more intricate cross on her ankle, this design is much simpler with just two thin lines.
JoJo’s very first tattoo was a treble clef on her ring finger to represent her symbolic marriage to music. She told Hello Giggles “You know, my first tattoo was a Treble Clef note on my marriage finger, symbolizing that I am fully committed to music. There is nothing else in the world that makes me feel that way.”
“I’m a married woman. See this tattoo right here–it’s a treble clef–I’m married to music,” she tells Radio 92.3 NOW, explaining that she’s put relationship on hold to focus on her career. “until my future husband puts a big shiny rock over it, that’s where my commitment lies,” she tells HerCampus. “So it’s a constant reminder when I look down that this is my priority.”

Avril Lavigne’s first tattoo was a star on the inside of her left wrist in the style of her Let Go album artwork. She got the tattoo in 2004 while working on her follow-up album. Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, with whom she co-wrote the song “Nobody’s Home,” also got the same star on his wrist.
