Selena Gomez got her fourth tattoo from artist Bang Bang in June 2014. It is Arabic writing on the right side of her back. It says “أحب نفسك أولا” which translates to “love yourself first.”
“Selena already had it written out how she wanted,” Bang Bang told E! News. “The tattoo is about 4 inches, and didn’t take too long, probably about 30-45 minutes. The longest part is laying it out. We played with it a bit laying it out, until we found the perfect spot.”
Jaqcui Sandell has the words “just forget everything else & learn to love yourself” tattooed on her left shoulder blade. These are lyrics from the Craig Owens solo song “Products of Poverty.” She got this tattoo in February 2012 while her band My Arcadia was on tour with Craig’s band D.R.U.G.S.
Snooki has a tattoo of a leopard with wings and a crown on her upper right arm which she calls her “queen leopard.”
“I got my leopard because I’m a fierce bitch…I just always thought of myself as a boss bitch, like everyone talks shit about me but I’m so content with myself. I’m just a leopard, I’m as strong as a leopard.”
Sherri DuPree-Bemis’ first large tattoo was of a girl with a guitar, which she got in June 2010. The character is in the style of a Blythe doll, which Sherri collects, and it appears to modeled after Sherri herself. Sherri is a guitarist and the cartoon also has a similar clothing style with a frilly dress, mary jane shoes and knee socks. Emeli Sande has a self-portrait of artist Frida Kahlo tattooed on her left forearm. She explained her admiration of Kahlo to the Hackney Gazette: “It was the first time I had seen a woman being completely open and raw in her art, especially because they were self-portraits. She wasn’t glossing over the blemishes and you see what she went through as a woman and how strong she had to be. She gave me strength as a woman; and how she made ugly parts of herself really beautiful and very strong, that’s what inspired me.”

Keyshia Cole has her own initials “KC” tattooed on her left wrist with a rose and flames. She told Urban Ink “On my left wrist I have K.C. with clouds and a rose and smoke coming from it, because I’m hot.”
The heart on Zoë Kravitz’s wrist was her first tattoo and it’s a symbol of self-love. She told Stylelist “I have this heart which was my first tattoo I got when I was 18. You know in my name how I have the umlauts over the ‘ë’? Well, I have them over the heart and that’s to remind me to love myself.”
