Jackie Cruz has a pinkie promise tattoo on her left upper arm.
Marzia got this tattoo on her right forearm in October 2016 at the same time as the lemon tree on her opposite arm. It is two hands making shadow puppets which reminds her of memories of her childhood. She explained on her blog how making shadow puppets helps her sleep and makes her feel less alone:
The second one I got is hands forming a shadow puppet. This brings me back, all the way to my childhood, but is still relevant to this day.
I don’t know if this happens in all kindergartens, but in mine, after lunch, the teachers would put all the kids in a room and made them sleep.
I never ever managed to fall asleep, not once, whilst all the other kids would sleep normally.
You may already know that I didn’t really like going to kindergarten at all – I would cry every morning, I would get closed in the lunch room cause I didn’t finish eating food I didn’t like – and sleeping time also wasn’t a big favourite of mine.
What I eventually came up with was to make shadow puppets with my hands, and make them talk to me quietly, so I wouldn’t feel so lonely.
Still to this day, at times, I have troubles sleeping: generally I can make myself relaxed enough by thinking about a train passing by on a summer night (I used to live near one, and although it may seem like a very annoying and loud thing to find relaxing, I used to love it as a kid), but if that doesn’t work, I will go back to my shadow puppet hands.
Marzia Bisognin and her best friend Emma Pickles have matching tattoos of two hands making a pinkie promise. They got the tattoos on their elbows opposite arms so that it shows when their hands are interlocked. (more…)

Lights has a large tattoo on her back of Wonder Woman pushing off the hand of Giganta from the cover of Wonder Woman 2 volume 3. At the bottom of the tattoo is a banner with the word UNSTOPPABLE written across it. According to Lights, “it really represents being able to fight big things even though you’re small.”
Lights identifies with powerful female figures, and is particularly enamored with Wonder Woman. She explains: “Wonder Woman is kind of my role model. She’s beautiful and she’s pure, and she fights with immense strength but integrity. She fights with justice and honor, and she’s not doing anything in a slimy or destructive way, and she’s doing it with grace and out of respect for everyone. And she’s an ambassador for Themyscira and a real symbol of a powerful woman. I think it’s fantastic. And she can kick ass and still look great doing it, so I feel like she’s a great symbol for us.”
Like many of her tattoos, this one represents strength. “Everything I have on me makes me feel like I can do anything,” she says.
Tini Stoessel has a tattoo on the back of her left upper arm of a hand flashing the peace sign.
Bethany Cosentino got this heart and hand tattoo on her left side from artist Matthew Sean Manroe in July 2015. The handshake and the laurel leaves at the bottom of the tattoo are both symbols of peace.
Jessica White has three lines of writing stacked vertically on the left side of her back. It says “Made and created / By God to destroy / Satan’s kingdom”. At the top and bottom are praying hands. On the center of her back is a six-pointed star of David with a crown.
