Ashlee Simpson tattooed a tiny red heart on the side of her ring finger some time in early 2008. The ring finger is a common place for love tattoos, so it’s likely that she got this tattoo for then-boyfriend Pete Wentz to whom she got engaged in April 2008 and wed in May 2008. Ashlee filed for divorce in February 2011, so hopefully the tattoo isn’t too awkward now! Luckily for her it’s tiny.

In June 2007, Ashlee Simpson added the number 3 beneath “Love” on her wrist. Ashlee and her assistant Nicole got these together as friendship tattoos. Nicole wrote to Ashlee-Star.com: “To answer your question regarding what the 3 represents on Ash’s wrist, we both got one together because before she has to perform, I’ve always kissed her wrist 3 times for good luck with love. It’s basically a count down for her to be mentally & spiritually ready to perform. It’s a friendship/sister thing between us.”
The other tattoo that Ashlee Simpson got in August 2005 was a tiny pair of cherries on the outside of her right ankle. Even though the ink is very discreet, Ashlee’s parents are not fans. At the time she told People Magazine “I’m sure I’ll get more tattoos but my parents are begging me not to.” Of course Ashlee did continue to get more tattoos — and they got bigger!
In August 2005, Ashlee Simpson added two new tattoos at the same time to celebrate the completion of her second album I Am Me. One of these tattoos was the word “Love” on her wrist. Ashlee explained the meaning of this tattoo to People Magazine: “I got ‘love’ because for me love is the most important thing. So I can give people love.”
Was this tattoo inspired by her love for a boyfriend? Ashlee says not. “No, it’s not for anyone,” she told About.com. She also joked about why she chose to place it on her wrist: “It’s like Spider-Man, like you shoot love to people [said while shooting her wrist forward like Tobey Maguire does in the “Spider-Man” movies].”
Ashlee Simpson’s very first tattoo was a black outline of a star that she got on her left wrist in 2004 to celebrate the completion of her debut album Autobiography. She told MTV “The first tattoo I got was a star and I got that with a few of my best friends. I have that one when I finished my first record and I have ‘Love’ on my other hand when I finished my second record.”
In July 2016, Jahan Yousaf and her sister Yasmine got matching neck tattoo which are half of a yin-yang symbol in a paisley style. Artist Bang Bang told Rolling Stone “One of them is gonna get a positive image. The other’s gonna get the negative. So they kinda match and go together. When they look at each other, you’ll see both sides.” The yin-yang represents the duality of opposites.
Jahan Yousaf has a tattoo of roses and thorns that stretches around both sides of her neck like a collar.
Jahan Yousaf has a tattoo on her left forearm which says “Love All, Hate None, Trust Few.” It is an adaption of the line “Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none” from William Shakespeare’s play All’s Well that Ends Well.
Jahan Yousaf’s “Krewlife” tattoo is a matching tattoo that she shares with her sister and fellow Krewella member Yasmine Yousaf and two members of Krewella’s crew. All of them got the tattoos together in October 2013. She tells Digital Tour Bus: “On our days off on tour we love to visit tattoo parlors. We were in Urbana, Illionois and all three of us decided to get tattoos with our director Miles Evert and our tour manager David Carlson.”
