I already got to ask Ash a whole bunch of my own questions when I interviewed her at Warped Tour in June, but I learned some new things from the twitterview like that she dyes her hair with Manic Panic’s “Raven” black and “Electric Lava” orange dyes and uses their “Vampyre’s Veil” compact. She’s also a fan of Urban Decay’s “Oil Slick” black eyeshadow.
Recently Ash has been talking about dying her hair a silvery white and posted inspiration photos on her tumblr, but she’s concerned about damaging her hair, which is naturally black. “It took me forever to grow it this long, I’d die if I wrecked it. We’ll see!,” she writes. Should she do it? I think it would look great on her with heavy black eyeshadow and red lips, but the damage is a legitimate concern, especially once she decides to change back to another color. Hair dye tends not to hold properly on hair once it’s been bleached, and I can tell you that from “why is this pink? It’s supposed to be red!” experience. I’m glad that mess is grown out!
What’s your favorite outfit to wear?
I hate pants. I’m always in tights & a baggy shirt & boots. Right now, little tiny black dresses, black thigh highs & chunky black heels.
What’s your style inspiration?
I try to blend Elvira, Minnie Mouse, Betty Boop, Lydia Deetz & Alice Cooper!

I can’t find much I like in stores so I buy online! Topshop & NastyGal & eBay!
Would you ever consider doing a pixie cut?
Only if I HAD to. There’s something mysterious & lovely about long dark hair.
What hair dye do you use?
It’s @manicpanicNY Raven & Electric Lava I LOVE IT! I’ve tried a lot of oranges and @manicpanicNY is my fave.
Do you dye your hair yourself or someone else do it?
Victoria at Floyd’s on Melrose in LA does an amazing job!
What’s your favorite color and the color you hate? Are you a shoeholic?!
I LOVE black obviously! Hate hot pink. I’m a shoe addict.

Where do you get your make up from?
I like @manicpanicNY my fave black eyeshadow is Oil Slick by Urban Decay. Vampire Veil by @manicpanicNY is my foundation ps. Love it!

I actually use my straightener! Watch a YouTube Vid on how to do it!
Do you ever find anything at Hot Topic?
I love Hot Topic! So yes but I don’t get much cause I hardly ever walk into a mall.

Me & the director’s wife bought it at a thrift store in LA.
When are you going to dye your hair white?
Well when I have the time & when I stop being scared I’ll damage my hair & just do it!
Could you recommend a website with awesome gothy dresses? I hate all the “normie” Homecoming dresses; they’re so boring…
