Miley Cyrus and her best friend Wayne Coyne got matching tattoos in September 2015 which say “OKIE” — a derogatory slang term for a person from Oklahoma. Miley is from Tennessee but has spent a lot of time in Oklahoma recently alongside Wayne, who is an Oklahoma native. She got the tattoo while working on her new album at Wayne’s recording studio in Oklahoma City.

The pair stopped by No Regrets Tattoo in Oklahoma City on September 10, 2015. Wayne and Miley both got the tattoo in the same spot on the back of their upper right arms, just above the elbow. Their tattoos are an interesting color which seems to be a mix of red and purple ink.

Wayne showed off his version of the tattoo on instagram as it was healing
