Hayden Panettiere’s largest tattoo is the writing down her side. It says “Vivere senza rimipianti,” Italian for “to live without regrets.” This tattoo made headlines for its misspelling — the last word should read “rimpianti,” but has an extra letter “i.”
Britney Spears has a small tattoo on her right hip of a Chinese symbol. The New York Times reports that she got the tattoo thinking it meant “mysterious,” but that it actually says “strange.” Pictured here back in 2001, Britney later adapted the tattoo into a sun-like shape, but kept the Chinese writing in the center intact.
On Angelina Jolie’s left hip is a large black cross next to the Latin phrase “Quod me nutrit me destruit,” which translates to “What nourishes me destroys me.”
Avril Lavigne has the outlines of two stars on her left hip. She has a few different star tattoos, but this one is the largest.
