DEV: Chain Sunglasses

DEV October 2009 photoshoot by gotchapix

Back in October 2009, DEV had a photoshoot with Drop Doctors on the set of “Fireball” music video wearing the A-Morir Love/Hate Convertible Chain Sunglasses ($250.00). A-Morir’s hand-crafted sunglasses, the work of designer Kerin Rose, have been popularized by celebrities like Rihanna and Lady Gaga which has spurned a number of inexpensive knock-offs. You can get a pair of “Celebrity Style” chain sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse for only $15.95.

DEV also wears the Damaged Deconstructed Cardigan Dress from Hellz Bellz, which is sold out. Check out pictures below:

Steampunk Outfit

Ash Costello's photoshoot for Lip Service

The latest episode of Ash Costello “Rockonista” web series takes us shopping with her at Lip Service’s Los Angeles warehouse. Lip Service has lines catered to many different alternative subcultures including lolita, cyber, and industrial clothing; but most of Ash’s picks come from the “Black Steam” collection of Victorian steampunk-inspired clothes.

Ash explains this outfit:

It’s very steampunk-inspired. Steampunk has been around for a while kind of in the underground, and I feel like right now it’s just starting to make it into the mainstream. Lip Service has really found a creative way to take steampunk in everyday wear — something you could wear to school, or to clubs, concerts, DisneyLand like I would. And I love it. I love that [the skirt] has the key detail, it’s very steampunk, and the brown distressed leather. This is something that I would wear all the time. And to top it all off I have my Sideshow by the Sea necklace. I love bats and anything gothy and dark like that is just awesome to me. So it pulls the whole thing together.

What she’s wearing:
All of Ash’s clothes are from Lip Service. She wears the BlackList Black Lace Top ($41.50) with the Step in Time Underbust Top ($98.00) over it. Her skirt is the Step in Time Lace Layered Skirt ($65.00) and the tights are the Ripped Net Pantyhose ($9.00). Her bat necklace is the La Mia Bella Morte Necklace from Sideshow by the Sea ($35.00).

LIGHTS: 2012 Juno Awards Dress

LIGHTS arriving at the 41st Juno Awards in Ottawa Canada on April 1, 2012

LIGHTS wore the Sexy Cadet Navy Dress by Stop Staring on the red carpet at Sunday night’s Juno Awards. This dress is available at Unique Vintage, JBR Clothing, and eBay for around $150 to $190. LIGHTS has a strong military influence in her everyday style, so it’s cool to see her incorporate it into a very sophisticated and mature look.

She kept up the military theme for her performance of “Raise Your Weapon” with Deadmau5, where she sang in a double-breasted pea coat with military badges.

Hayley Williams in a photoshoot for Paramore's January 2012 Alternative Press cover

These Cheap Monday Moss Ice Narrow Skinny Denim Jeans from Hot Topic ($65.00) are really similar to the mustard-colored skinny jeans that Hayley Williams wore in Paramore’s January 2012 Alternative Press photoshoot. I believe that her exact pair is from Cheap Monday as well, but they are a higher-waisted style like these.

Hayley also wears the Sailor Girl Intarsia Cardigan from Betsey Johnson (sold out) and red Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi-Tops ($45.00).
