The latest episode of Ash Costello “Rockonista” web series takes us shopping with her at Lip Service’s Los Angeles warehouse. Lip Service has lines catered to many different alternative subcultures including lolita, cyber, and industrial clothing; but most of Ash’s picks come from the “Black Steam” collection of Victorian steampunk-inspired clothes.
Ash explains this outfit:
It’s very steampunk-inspired. Steampunk has been around for a while kind of in the underground, and I feel like right now it’s just starting to make it into the mainstream. Lip Service has really found a creative way to take steampunk in everyday wear — something you could wear to school, or to clubs, concerts, DisneyLand like I would. And I love it. I love that [the skirt] has the key detail, it’s very steampunk, and the brown distressed leather. This is something that I would wear all the time. And to top it all off I have my Sideshow by the Sea necklace. I love bats and anything gothy and dark like that is just awesome to me. So it pulls the whole thing together.
What she’s wearing:
All of Ash’s clothes are from Lip Service. She wears the BlackList Black Lace Top ($41.50) with the Step in Time Underbust Top ($98.00) over it. Her skirt is the Step in Time Lace Layered Skirt ($65.00) and the tights are the Ripped Net Pantyhose ($9.00). Her bat necklace is the La Mia Bella Morte Necklace from Sideshow by the Sea ($35.00).

DEV at the mtvU Woodie Awards Festival in Austin, TX on March 15, 2012
Taking center stage for DEV’s performance at the mtvU Woodie Awards Festival are her golden yellow Leather Shorts by Emma Cook ($530.00). You can get a sheer blouse like DEV’s with the Chiffon Oversized Button-Up from American Apparel ($58.00). I think her exact necklace is the Hammered Collar Necklace from Nasty Gal ($20.00, sold out), but you can get similar necklaces from Nordstrom or Nasty Gal.

LIGHTS live at Haunt in Brighton, UK on February 17, 2012
Lights is wearing the Sleeveless Stripe Shirt from Topshop ($60.00). These wide black and white stripes are more bold and graphic than what Lights normally wears, but I think she definitely pulls it off!
