Sierra Kusterbeck: Hair Feathers
I saw that there was just a post about Sierra’s feathers, so i thought i would tell you guys how I do it!
First, you can go to a craft store like AC Moore or Michael’s and get some feathers.
AC Moore Ringneck Pheasant Feathers 8-10″ 6/Pkg – $3.62
Then, lift up part of your hair and get a little peice under all of your hair, right near your neck. Braid it, then tie it with a little elastic. Now there’s two ways you can do it:
1) Stick the feather in with the elastic. This was is easier to adjust, but it falls out easier.
2) Tie a peice of twine around the end of the feather. Weave it in and out of the braid. This is harder to adjust than 1, but it will stay in better and you can add beads and stuff :)

I recently bought feathers from Rockin’ Feathers. They sold individual feathers in tons of sizes and shapes. Call me crazy but I put them on my dog and they turned out sooo cute. I’m sure people are going to get very creative with them. I’m hooked :)
i just bought a feather set thing from the fueled by ramen store on the versaemerge section :P
its like two real feathers and a gold-metal feather attatched to some chord stuff that you can just tie or clip in your hair. its pretty handy :)

Theres another way to get this look by getting like a feathered ear ring with a hoop/loop (they’re everywhere now) and just bend and twist it on to a hairband it works best if you have long hair though as you can tie it higher up or on a braid it works for me? :) x

I have sent out a couple of feathers to Sierra, She doesn’t buy them from me, but i have indeed sent out a couple of designs to her. She wears them at some shows, and she already has worn a white feather hair clip I made her at Warped Tour 2010.. I wouldnt lie about sending stuff out to her.. I know she wears her feathers and her moms feathers. But she did on some occassions wear some of my feather designs that I mailed out to her
Of course she doesn’t buy them.
Samii gives them to her, because she made a few for her and sent some out to her.
This is just my way of doing it :)
no she doesn’t… I know sierra.. she only wears feathers she gets from her mother or friends
or her own feathers
but she definitely does NOT buy them from samii ryan or what’s her name
