Rihanna was spotted out in New York City on Monday wearing the Stretch Floral Lace Ruched Front Tube Bra from American Apparel in pink ($18.00) with the Pleated Dip Back Skirt from Topshop ($76.00) and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star high-top sneakers ($45.00).

Rihanna seems to have had a bit of a “wardrobe malfunction” with the sheerness of the top. Perhaps that’s not the right term since she was probably aware, and given her sexy image it shouldn’t be much of a shock. But I would absolutely be taken aback if I were walking down the street and saw anyone wearing that! My first thought was to suggest wearing a nude tube bra underneath to cover things up, but it turns out that Rihanna is wearing another bra and it’s still not working. Maybe pasties would have been a better option?

Wearing a sheer skirt presents the conundrum of what to wear underneath so that you aren’t flashing the world your underwear or worse. You can always go with a nude slip, but another option is to wear a bodysuit and let your legs show through the skirt, which is what Sleigh Bells singer Alexis Krauss has done. Cher Lloyd always keeps her outfits looking fresh by mixing in pieces that are unexpected. Her black monochrome Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Core Hi sneakers ($45.00) are an odd choice for two reasons: first because a dressier outfit like this would normally be paired with heels or flats rather than sneakers and second because they are so dark compared to her otherwise springy outfit. But ultimately it keeps the outfit looking young, which is great because Cher is only 18 years old!

Cher’s blazer and skirt are both from Urban Outfitters. Her orangey red Silence & Noise Nexus Blazer ($69.00) has an interesting cutout detail in the back. She’s wearing it over a basic white tank top and the off-white Staring at Stars Crochet Mini Skirt ($49.00).

Miley Cyrus was spotted leaving her hotel in Miami wearing the Denim Sleeveless Crop Button-Up from American Apparel ($45.00) with the Anja Crochet 3/4 Skirt in Ink by Bec & Bridge ($308.00). She adds a pop of color with a red-orange pair of Chloé Scalloped Flats ($450.00, wrong color) and finishes things off with a pair of classic Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses ($145.00).

I love the retro look that Kreayshawn took on for her appearance in 2 Chainz’s “Murder” music video. She always wears winged eyeliner, but she’s kicked things up a notch with cranberry red lipstick and curled bangs.

Fitting the murderous theme of the video, her clothing is very dark. She wears the Stretch Floral Lace Long Sleeve Bodysuit ($44.00) and Chiffon Full Length Skirt ($46.00), both from American Apparel. She’s also got on gold doorknocker earrings, her Tatty Devine name necklace (£47.50) and a smaller gold charm for her hometown football team the Oakland Raiders — Kreayshawn is a huge fan and even has a Raiders tattoo!

Ash Costello's photoshoot for Lip Service

The latest episode of Ash Costello “Rockonista” web series takes us shopping with her at Lip Service’s Los Angeles warehouse. Lip Service has lines catered to many different alternative subcultures including lolita, cyber, and industrial clothing; but most of Ash’s picks come from the “Black Steam” collection of Victorian steampunk-inspired clothes.

Ash explains this outfit:

It’s very steampunk-inspired. Steampunk has been around for a while kind of in the underground, and I feel like right now it’s just starting to make it into the mainstream. Lip Service has really found a creative way to take steampunk in everyday wear — something you could wear to school, or to clubs, concerts, DisneyLand like I would. And I love it. I love that [the skirt] has the key detail, it’s very steampunk, and the brown distressed leather. This is something that I would wear all the time. And to top it all off I have my Sideshow by the Sea necklace. I love bats and anything gothy and dark like that is just awesome to me. So it pulls the whole thing together.

In case you haven’t heard the news, Bebe Rexha has left Black Cards and is pursuing a solo career. Well we haven’t seen much of her since, so here’s an older outfit from a Black Cards concert in back in October. Bebe loves wearing all-black outfits with bits of leather and studs for a glam rocker look. She gets her (faux) leather fix here with the Vegan Leather Pleated Skirt from Free People ($148.00). Her Zipper Half Cage bustier from Chromat ($200.00) is hard to see because she’s layered it over another black top, but it’s a really interesting piece. She finishes it off with combat boots and a cat-eared headband.
