This star tattoo on the inside of Avril Lavigne’s right elbow has gone through three iterations. At first it was a small blue star to cover a freckle. Then in April 2008 she added a black outline while her friend Allie got a tattoo at the same time. Finally, she had the whole tattoo filled in with black ink.
Avril Lavigne has a tiny star tattoo the right side of her upper back. It was initially done in blue ink. Like the star on her arm, she had it recolored with black ink to make it more opaque and permanent.

Avril Lavigne’s first tattoo was a star on the inside of her left wrist in the style of her Let Go album artwork. She got the tattoo in 2004 while working on her follow-up album. Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, with whom she co-wrote the song “Nobody’s Home,” also got the same star on his wrist.
