Miley Cyrus for SMHP

Miley Cyrus for SMHP

Miley Cyrus worked with her brother Trace’s clothing line Southern Made Hollywood Paid (SMHP) to release this dreamcatcher design on a women’s tee ($28.00), men’s tee ($28.00), and hoodie ($58.00). Proceeds from the shirts will fund The Miley Cyrus Foundation. The foundation does not seem to be established yet so it is not known what causes it will support, but Miley has previously worked with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, American Red Cross, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Cyrus family is part Cherokee and all seem to be inspired by Native American imagery. Miley has a dreamcatcher tattooed on her side while Trace has a dreamcatcher on his neck. Trace also has portraits of Geronimo on his hand and back and Miley’s father Billy Ray Cyrus has Geronimo and Chief Joseph on his arms.

Avril Lavigne and her band

photo from Avril's twitter

Avril Lavigne and her band are wearing the ‘R.O.C.K.S.’ Tee ($24.95) in support of The Avril Lavigne Foundation. Avril started the foundation in 2010 to supports children and youth living with a serious illness or disability. ‘R.O.C.K.S.’ is an acronym for the foundation’s mission of Respect, Opportunity, Choices, Knowledge, and Strength.

The shirt was sold on the Black Star Tour in Canada and online in Avril’s merch store, with 100% of the net proceeds going to The Avril Lavigne Foundation. Avril says: “I’m pretty excited about these because they look cool. We made it into a tank top for me for my stage outfit, and my band are gonna wear them. There’s a lot of t-shirts and cool stuff being sold in merch, but I definitely wanted to make one key piece that was for my foundation.”

sierra

photo from Sierra Kusterbeck's instagram

On the one hand, the Instagram trend is awesome because it gives us fresh photos of musicians even when they’re not on tour. But on the other hand, a lot of the photos are so crappy that I can’t really tell what they’re wearing! Sierra looks like she’s wearing a galaxy printed top (or maybe a sweater or a dress). Here are three similar looking tops from PacSun, Hot Topic, and ModCloth.

Lead singer Tay Jardine wears the Forever 21 Burnout Rugby Stripes Top in Navy/Wine ($12.90) with black skinny jeans and all-black shoes. Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless

Taylor Momsen is wearing a tee from horror movie The Devil’s Rejects. True to Taylor’s rock and roll persona, the film is written and directed by rock legend Rob Zombie.  This “Hell Doesn’t Want Them” graphic is available on a juniors tee ($16.95), but Taylor is of course wearing an oversized mens tee ($18.80) with the sleeves cut off.
