Ash Costello uses a large fluffy brush to apply nude blush, and then uses smaller angled brushes for her contouring.
“I’m a big fan of contouring. It’s amazing what you can do with makeup. You can completely change your face shape. I like to use Nude On Board by MAC, it’s brown. I use just a regular blush brush and go over my face with the natural color first before I go in with any extreme pigments.”
Ash applies this shade along her cheek bones, under the jawline, under the tip of her nose, and lightly on the sides of her nose. Then she adds darker pink and red blush for depth.
“I learned this trick from the makeup artist who did the ‘Angel Eyes’ music video, Candice Catron. She took MAC Black Carbon and MAC 24 Hour Spray that you normally would spray on your face. You take the 24 Hour Spray and spray it onto the eyeshadow so that it creates like a watercolor. You just get it wet. Use a small angled brush and draw your eyebrows on.”
“Feeling & sounding like a huge girlie girl lately.. But to be fair I’m just playing catch up on some girl time after the past 3 months on the road :) So with that preface, these are the new additions to my makeup bag! Eyeshadows, Blushes/Bronzer, Blush Brush ‘129’, Blending (eye brush) ‘224’, Base Visage Primer, Brow Liner (seriously best & most subtle I’ve ever used), Mineralize Skin Finish, Prep & Prime Highlighter, Cremesheen lipstick ‘Shanghai Spice’ and Satin lipstick ‘Del Rio’. I’d like to believe material things shouldn’t matter but hey if it makes you happy it can’t hurt!”
