Katy Perry 2012 Coachella Outfit

Katy Perry at the Hennessy V.S Coachella After Party on April 13, 2012

Katy Perry is a style chameleon and adapts her fashion sense to fit the occasion. At the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, she wore a neon outfit. But for an after party at the Coachella music festival she went for a more subdued color palette and an indie rocker look, wearing hipster-favorite brands Wildfox Couture, House of Holland, and T.U.K. You can buy Katy’s Wildfox Couture White Label The West Was Won Hankshaw Dress for $399.00 or $445.00, House of Holland for Pretty Polly Bones Tights for £12.48, and T.U.K. A7270 Creeper Shoes for $65.00.

Katy Perry got drenched with slime at the Kids’ Choice Awards in 2010. This year she brought the slime with her, appearing on the orange carpet in a slime-covered lime green sports bra and green and white slime-print skirt.

You can imitate Katy’s look on a budget with the 2×1 Racerback Cropped Tank from American Apparel in Fit Green ($22.00), Kiernan Skirt from Need Supply ($38.00) and Dash-02N Suede Almond Toe Pump by Bamboo ($28.40).

Back in December, Katy Perry appeared on the red carpet in an off-white leather dress with a design made of gold studs in varying shapes and sizes. Her exact Geometric-Studded Leather Dress from the Versace Spring 2012 runway collection is available at Neiman Marcus for $7,925.

Fortunately there’s a much cheaper option: for $70.00, roughly one percent of the cost of Katy’s dress, you can get the Studded Shift Dress from Goddiva. Pair it with Michael Antonio “LoveMe” Metallic pumps for $39.99 to complete the Katy Perry look on a budget.

Katy Perry wears the Jeremy Scott Mohair Stripe Little Dress in Multi ($158.00) in her new twitter photo. This dress was shown in his Fall/Winter 2011 collection, along with a maxi dress and a turtleneck sweater in the same striped print. Jeremy Scott is one of Katy Perry favorite designers and she’s worn many of his clothes over the years.

Katy Perry performed yesterday at the DirecTV Super Bowl Event in a blue and red football-themed outfit. She wore Ash’s “Thelma” Buckle Wedge Sneakers which have a red and blue trim along the sole. These shoes are available for $160.00 at Bloomingdales, Jildor, ShopBop, Victoria’s Secret, or ASOS. Her jersey top is split into red and blue halves, and she wore mismatched Stripe Knee-High Socks from American Apparel ($10.00) with red and blue athletic stripes.

Katy Perry’s red glitter platform pumps are the Bordello by Pleaser Women’s Teeze-31G Pump, available for $99.95 at Endless.com and other stores.

Her bra and shorts are custom pieces by Syren Latex, who make all of Katy’s latex outfits. They call this futuristic look the “Judy Jetson dress.” The bottoms are similar to their Frilled Latex Pia Panty ($124.00).

Though Katy appears covered by Photoshopped fake tattoos, she does have some ink of her own. Check out our Katy Perry tattoo page for pictures of her tattoos.

I don’t post about Katy Perry’s clothes as much as I used to because her style has gotten totally absurd. It’s not easy to find and not easy for anyone buy Katy to pull off. But every now and then I find that even the craziest of outfits are being imitated. Take for example this snowman dress. Etsy seller coyotepeyote has dropped the bubble skirt and pop-pom buttons to create a more casual and wearable Frosty The Snowman Holiday Dress ($95.00). It’s still fun and playful, but much less of a costume.

Katy’s wood grain fingerless gloves remind me of the Wolford Wilderness Tights ($23.80 and up), another more toned-down way to get Katy’s look.

Katy Perry Debuts Pink Hair Color ...

Katy Perry's ever-changing hair color

Katy Perry has dyed her hair bright pink! She has been wearing colorful wigs throughout the Teenage Dream album cycle, but this is the first time that she has dyed her own hair a bright shade. Katy is a natural blonde but has dyed her hair black for years.

Those years of dyeing made the transition from black to pink a bit messy — she first attempted the dye job in mid-June, but tweeted that she couldn’t get the color done in one go and would have to be ginger for 3 weeks before trying again in order to avoid damaging her hair. She continued the process last week, showing off a much lighter yellow-blonde shade at the movie premier of “The Smurfs” on July 24th. Now more than a month since the redhead phase began, we can finally we can see the finished product.

I like all of her fun wigs, but I wonder why she chose to make this one permanent, especially since blue has been her go-to wig. Personally I think that black hair suits her best and allows her to pull off wearing heavy colorful makeup, while I can only envision the ginger shade with more natural looks. I’m curious to see what sorts of makeup she’ll try with her new pink color!

For a photo in her Rolling Stone cover article, Katy Perry wore Leg Avenue’s Striped Fishnet Mini Dress, which sells for around $16.00. She’s tucked it into a hot pink and black leather-look mini skirt. With chunky plastic earrings and colorful sunglasses, this neon 80′s look would fit in with her “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” music video – but thankfully she’s dropped the braces and perm!

Katy Perry: Ginger Hair and Bikini ...

Katy Perry has dyed her hair ginger! I’m really not a fan of this look, but luckily it’s only temporary. Katy was intending to go for a different color – she wouldn’t reveal which, but because her hair had been black, she ran into some difficulties and will have to keep it ginger for a little while before proceeding. She tweeted:

tonight I dye my hair a different color… Can you guess which color?!

So I didn’t get to the exact color I wanted from being black for so long! 2get to goal I have 2b GINGER for 3WKS #paybackfromGINGERGodsFML!

If I don’t wait 3wks, I’ll end up w/no hair or a #pixie90scutw/abarretteinthefront It’s okay, I’ll get to my secret color(s) soon! #patience

She showed off her new hair in a bikini from Australian brand Seafolly. She is wearing the Bustier Bra and Reversible Mini Hipster Pant from their “Boudoir” collection of mix-and-match separates. In the US you can buy the D-cup top (which I’m sure Katy needs!) from Nordstrom for $90.00, but they only sell skirted bikini bottoms. Her exact bikini is available in a number of Australian stores:
Carla Swimwear: top – $69.95, bottoms – $45.45
Sunburn: top – $69.96, bottoms – $45.46
